Not The Ruddy Hospital Wing!
Chapter 7
I woke up to the blinding light of the hospital wing. Wait - the hospital wing? How did I get here?
I tried to remember what had happened, but as much as I wanted to, I couldn't, and it hurt my head when I dwelled too much on it anyway, so I pushed the thought aside and came back to the present.
I slowly started moving each of my limbs in turn, and everything seemed to be fine. I tried to carefully move my head to the right, but it ended up as a sort of jerk, and I winced as the pain soared from the side of my neck to the top of my head.
"Ouch....!" I cried out.
I heard footsteps come from Madam Bull's office, and then out she trotted.
"Oh, so you're finally awake, are you dearie? Well, how do you feel?"
I had never met Madam Bull before, and my initial impression of her was a tall, boisterous woman who made children cower before her. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I have a wild imagination. The reality of her was completely different. She was a sweet, frail old woman who looked like she wouldn't hurt a fly, but I could tell she could be firm when she wanted to be.
" Well, my limbs and arms are all fine, but my head hurts when I move it to the right. "
" Oh, that'll heal on its own, Its great that your limbs are all better, you did fracture your left ankle you know. "
I gave a weak smile in gratitude, then asked if I would be able to go soon. She nodded, but gave me a medicine for my head before I left.
I put on my robes, and brought my bag back to Ravenclaw tower where all my books for the day were. It was 12:45 which meant that I should've been in Charms right now. I collected my Charms book and all the textbooks that I needed for the remainder of the day and headed back out to Charms.
Once I got there, everyone had already started practicing the spell they had been learning, so no one noticed that I had come.
I manoeuvred my way through all my class fellows and made my way to Professor LowSyl. He explained everything to me and paired me up with Skye, who didn't have a partner. Professor LowSyl was definitely my favourite Professor.
Skye was a bit nervous around me, but we any indifference between us aside and worked hard until we had both mastered the spell. We had 15 minutes of the lesson remaining, so I finally mustered up the courage to ask her what happened on that day.
" Er...well..." She was avoiding my eye contact, and I knew something was up.
"Alright class, time's up!" Professor LowSyl addressed the whole class and Skye gave me an apologetic look.
Professor LowSyl explained the concept of the spell and gave us all homework before the bell rang and he dismissed us on time for lunch.
As soon as we were dismissed the whole class pushed and shoved me out the way to get to the exit which resulted in me being the last one out. As usual.
I thought Skye would wait for me, but when I got outside, the whole corridor was empty. Except for a tall and gangly 7th year. Everyone knew who he was. It was Casper Langley.
He strutted up to me and I felt slightly afraid - ok, a lot afraid. He was a huge 7th year, and I was a measly 1st year.
" You friends with Skye Taylor? "
I gave a small nod , and he pushed me back against the wall with his wand, and snarled,
" Tell me where she is, I need to get her back for what she did...!"
I just stared fearfully at him for a while, which may not have been the smartest move...
"Tell me where she is NOW, or I swear I'll do you in this instant!"
Alright, that's it. I couldn't take this nonsense anymore, Skye didn't do anything!
"It wasn't Skye who trashed your bed, she was framed, it was Shauna!"
He looked enraged, and his tight grip on me was starting to hurt.
" TELL ME WHERE SHE IS! "
" NO! "
I am such an idiot.
I felt an agonising pain on the right side of my head, where it already hurt, and I hit the ground with a thump.
---
I awoke to a blinding light for the second time that day.
Great, I was in the hospital wing again.
