The next morning in the Great Hall, I finally found out what had happened between Shauna and Skye.

Lets just say, Skye coped with it WAY better than I would have.

I'll spare you all the nasty details, but long story short, Shauna framed Skye for vandalizing a seventh years dorm bed, and now the seventh year is making it his duty to ruin Skye's life.

After Potions class the other day, I hung back to ask Professor Crump a question, and as soon as I exited the classroom, Skye gingerly approached me.

" Hey, Clover. You, believe me, don't you? You believe that I didn't vandalize that seventh year - Castor Langley, think his name was. Anyway, you believe that I didn't vandalize his dorm room? "

" Of course I don't believe that! Those are just rumours, and I know that you're too sweet to do that! I'd bet my Midnight Firebolt 2207 that it was Shauna. "

She gave a wide beam, and hugged me. I hesitated before I hugged her back. My heart was racing inside me, was I making a friend?

" Hey, did you say that you have a Midnight Firebolt 2207? That's so cool! You play Quidditch? "

I gave a smile. Finally, a topic I loved.

" Yeah, I used to play for fun at home, and was overjoyed when I found out that first years are allowed broomsticks  now! "

Skye laughed, and said,

" It's weird you know! My parents said that back in their day, first years weren't allowed to be on the Quidditch team, or even own a broomstick. Hey, we should try for the team you know! "

My eyes widened, why didn't I think of this before?

" Yes, that'd be a dream come true! "

Suddenly a voice came from the staircase above us,

" Well well, lookie here, Skye's making friends already! And with a dork, no doubt! What happened, couldn't find someone else of my superior status? "

Oh, she did not just insult me and Skye at the same time.

 I was gonna stand up to her. I was going to do this. For Skye.

" Listen, SHAUNA, you have no right to say that to us! You're not superior, so stop living under the delusion that you are! Because when the time comes for you to learn the truth, its gonna hurt, and its gonna hurt hard. "

I stared up at Shauna determinedly, and I was now aware that Skye was absent from my side.

Shauna's eyes narrowed and she threatened,

" I'll get you back for that. "

Before I knew it, her wand whipped up from her robe pocket and she pointed it at me. She shrieked a spell, and a blinding purple spark came flying at me.

I hit the ground with great agony, and I lay on the ground as my vision became hazed and I stared into darkness.
