The Train Ride

Chapter 3

For the first 45 minutes of the journey Draco, Gregory and Vincent sat in complete silence in the compartment where all the 'Slytherins' sat. Draco's father had briefly mentioned the Hogwarts houses. All Draco remembered was that his father said "Aim for Slytherin. They are the superior". The word 'superior' rang in Draco's ears.

Finally Gregory spoke "Listen," he said, his voice deep "We don't do first names."

Draco looked confused and apparently Vincent could tell. "Call me Crabbe and him Goyle."

"OK. I'm Malfoy." replied Draco.

Crabbe and Goyle shook Draco's hand.

"Could they be my friends?" thought Draco "Or are they here because of my father?"

The time was spent talking and eating treats that a little old witch had bought around the train.

"Hey! Guess what I've heard?" exclaimed Goyle

"Ha ha! What?" laughed Crabbe.

"Well, I've only heard it but apparently, if you can believe it, Harry Potter is coming to Hogwarts this year! Yep! He's on this train right now!"

Harry Potter. Where had Draco heard that name before?

"Harry Potter?" asked Draco

"You're kidding,right?" sniggered Goyle

Draco shook his head.

"Harry Potter was the one who defeated Lord Voldemort when he was just a baby" exclaimed Goyle.

He lowered his voice.

"And was the one who got our parents out of jobs".
