When It Started

Chapter 2

"Draco!" snapped Lucius, "stand up straight! This isn't nearly good enough!"

Draco stood up as straight as he could. His father,Lucius, was an abusive man with high standards.

Among all the muggles at the busy Kings Cross station, Lucius looked a bit out of place; his long, pale hair back and his frightening, dark cane by his side. The clock read '10:30'.

"But father, we still have half an hour before the Hogwarts express leaves." said Draco.

"Draco!" Lucius said in a bored voice, "If you want to be the best in your year, you have to work for it!"

Draco looked down at the ground, embarrassed.

"Ah! Here is the platform!"exclaimed Lucius, pointing at the all between platforms 9 and 10.

Draco became very confused. A wall? As a platform? What?

"But...but that's just a wall!" questioned Draco.

"Oh you silly boy! To get onto the platform you have to walk through the wall!" Draco's father proclaimed.

"Walk...through the wall?"

"But how?"

"Oh you meddling child! Just walk straight into the wall!"

Draco had never heard anything like this before. He knew about magic; but nothing like this.

"Deep breaths" Draco thought and he ran straight into the wall. All of a sudden, he found himself on another platform. "Woah!" he whispered.

"Come on Draco! You're going to be late!" shouted Lucius.

However, Draco was too bewildered to take in anything his father was saying. Along with the strange platform, came a very old train. Red and black in color and smoke pouring out the pipes.

"That's how I'm getting to school!" thought Draco.

"Now," Lucius droned on "you will be-are you listening Draco?"

"Oh...um yes father" Draco replied without thinking: he had done that many times in the past.

"Good. As I was saying, I have arranged for you to sit with two other first years on the train" explained Lucius "They should be here any minute. Ah! Here they are!"

From the wall emerged 4 people from the wall. Lucius shook hands with some suspicious looking men, while Draco looked at the 2 ugly sights that stood before him. They were fat, wide eyed and looked a bit stupid.

"These, Draco, are Vincent and Gregory"

Draco nodded his head and gave a weak smile.

After 15 minutes of waiting, it was time to board the Hogwarts Express. Vincent & Gregory said their good-byes however Draco wasn't quite sure what to say to his father. Finally Lucius whispered "Goodbye Draco. Remember what  I said; don't go making friends with mudbloods. Go with the superior. Be the superior." Lucius smirked.

"Be the superior" Draco repeated, trailing away at the end and boarded the train.
