Chapter 3
Hermione met Harry Potter and Ron Weasley on the Hogwarts Express. Both boys found her unfriendly and a know-it-all. For example, when Hermione corrected Ron in charms class on the levitation charm. However, after Harry and Ron saved Hermione from the mountain troll and Hermione took the blame, they all became friends. At the end of the book, her knowledge came into use when helping Ron, Harry, and herself escape from the Devil's Snare to retrieve the Sorcerer's Stone.
