Hufflepuff' Representation: Symbol, Colour, And Elements.
Chapter 2
As you probably know, Hufflepuff's mascot is a badger. It is reasonable to say that badgers look less impressive and,
frankly, cute compared to a lion, serpent or am eagle. This, perhaps, compares to Hufflepuff house's laughability in
comparison to the others. But is quite unwise to underestimate the badger because if it's stocky body and cute fur
pattern, because badgers are VICIOUS (and as we all know, the honey badger don't give a s*%#). And, in fact, the
serpent is a key component in the badger's diet.
Black and yellow are also the house's main color scheme. It is interesting to note that all other houses contain a metallic
color (Gryffindor: gold, Slytherin: silver and Ravenclaw: bronze). Hufflepuff, however only has black. But, black and
yellow also have the strongest amount of contrast between them. This, I find, is a perfect illustration of how Hufflepuff
demands respect without flaunting any sort of prestige or superiority, which all houses do have in their own way.
Hufflepuff's bold color combination, but lack of a metallic color are unique in terms of the other house's color schemes.
Hufflepuff house is also associated with earth. This is perhaps another factor that contributes to the supposed
inferiority of the house. Gryffindor's fire will burn you, Slytherin's water may drown you, and Ravenclaw's air will always
soar above you. Hufflepuff's earth, however, will always be beneath your feet. Though, consider where you would be if
that earth, absorbing the Suns rays and cradling you with its warmth and protection, didn't exist. It is the most tangible
and humble of all the elements, therefore it rarely gets the attention it deserves.
