Introduction
Chapter 1
Dear Reader,
What you now hold in your hands is a bit like a wizard encyclopaedia. Anything and everything you need to know about magic is in here. All I ask is that you use it wisely, and use the magic in here to the best of your abilities. If ever you need to know the best way to rid the garden of gnomes or the spell to clean your room, or even how to make Butterbeer, come to this book and you shall soon know the answer.
Magic is kind of like a hammer is to a Muggle carpenter. It is a tool which we can use to either build something or tear something down. Magic is not something to be used lightly, as it can cause serious damage to practically anything it comes into contact with.
The study of magic is, in its own way, extraordinarily dangerous. It's more dangerous than even the scariest of studies, like studying sharks up close. And whilst, yes, a shark may try to bite you from time to time, magic can just as easily wipe out life on a planet in the blink of an eye. So magic is a dangerous study.
But let's not get into the dilly-dally of why magic is dangerous. You're here to learn about magic, aren't you? Then read on! Discover all about this fascinating force. But remember, use it wisely, and you might live.
Yours sincerely,
Jakius Amaranth
