Wesen: M

Chapter 18

Wesen in the M category.

Malin Fatal:

Malin Fatal (MAH-leh fə-TAL) is a boar-like Wesen.

Malin Fatal are formidable foes, being both aggressive and intelligent. They kill their victims by slitting their throat with their tusks and leaving the victim to bleed out. Malin Fatal are also great defenders as Joseph Stalin was known to employ Malin Fatal as effective and dangerous bodyguards.

Their tusks (see below in 'Features) are present in both males and females and can be used as knife-like weapons to slit their victim's throat.

Features:

When woged, a Malin Fatal has brown fur that covers most of the body except for the main part of the face. However, the hair of the human form remains unchanged. The shape of the nose and face become more bestial, and the ears become pointed and tufted.  The main defining feature of the Malin Fatal is a pair of sharp, pointed tusks that protrude from the lower jaw.

Manticore:

Manticore (MAN-ti-kor) is a half-lion, half-scorpion-like Wesen originating in Persia.

The scorpion-tail of a Manticore (see below for more in 'Features') are capable of delivering powerful blows, and they contain a dangerous poison with high amounts of neurotoxins and nerve inhibitors that are similar to the venom of a certain type of scorpion (scorpion family buthidae). They are also able to move and control these tails and often use them in combat.

This poison can paralyze and kill an adult human, as well as another Manticore, in mere seconds. As such, it is the Manticores' common method of killing. Manticore tails do seem somewhat sensitive though, as a single stab with a knife was enough to cause one Manticore to rear back in pain. However, Manticores are vulnerable to these toxins and can be killed by their own stinger if they are stabbed with it.

Manticores are very difficult to kill. They are also superhumanly strong on a level impressive even by Wesen standards, as they are capable of lifting and throwing humans and other Manticores across a whole room with ease. They also possess a great agility, able to make lion-like leaps over a distance of several yards. Their durability is also impressive, as they are able to take multiple blows from another Manticore. These abilities do not seem to decrease in old age.

Manticores are are not afraid of death and view dying in battle as a very noble and worthy way to die. This, of course, means that they are excellent soldiers, willing to fight for what they believe in. This species can often be found on the front lines of battle.

Features:

When woged, Manticores bear a strong resemblance to Löwens (see Wesen: L) , only they have much larger manes that seem to grow grey as they age. From their spines extend black, chitinous scorpion tails.

Matança Zumbido:

Matança Zumbido (mah-TAHN-cuh zoom-BEE-doe) is an electric eel-like Wesen.

Matança Zumbido are able to generate massive amounts of bio-electricity, with one known individual known to have generated over 200,000 amperes worth of electricity while murdering his wife and her lover. It is often seen dancing across their skin during times of aggravation or before an attack.

Anyone killed by their discharge looks like they were struck by lighting, with scorched skin along with fractured skulls, teeth, and blown out eyes. They also have control over their discharge and can ensure that only their target is affected while everything else in the room is untouched

Electronic appliances tend to go on the fritz (in a bad way - not working properly and playing up) around Matança Zumbido if the Wesen is/are emotionally unstable, turning on and off, even if the appliances in question are not hooked up to a power grid. They also give off incredible levels of EMF (Electromotive force).

The only way for a person to be able to become immune to their shock is to pierce their own ear and rub in a paste made from the ground up skin of an Anura dendrobatidae, a species of poison dart frog.

When they die, Matança Zumbido will give off a large electric pulse. Anyone hit by it will be knocked back several feet, but otherwise unharmed, while any fragile object can be destroyed at a considerable distance.

Matança Zumbido appear to be somewhat possessive and do not like when their spouse cheats. It is also possible for them to go insane over traumatic events. On the other hand, they are noted to be a Wesen that is considered horrifying and extremely dangerous when provoked or confronted.

Features:

When they woge, Matança Zumbido gain lime green skin with royal blue accents around their eyes, mouth, and temples. Their hair, along with their external ears and nose, disappears, giving their serpentine heads little resemblance of humanity.

Mauvais Dentes:

Mauvais Dentes (MO-vay don) is a saber-toothed tiger-like Wesen.

They are incredibly strong creatures, able to casually overpower grown men; one was able to kill three men at once and was later shown to be capable of holding its own against two Grimms for a short time.

They have long teeth like the ones pictured on a sabre-tooth tiger that are capable of leaving puncture wounds in their victims up to an inch in diameter. They are also highly agile, fast, and stealthy, and they have razor sharp teeth and claws that they use to kill. When they kill, they lacerate their victims and bite their necks. They are also very durable: one was able to take multiple punches to the head without much reaction. However, like many Wesen, they are weaker in their human form.

Mauvais Dentes do eat humans, or rather parts of them.It is unknown if human flesh is part of their necessary diet, or if this is simply a bloodthirsty habit.

There aren't many left in the world, but based on the accounts of Grimm Ancestors, they are vicious killing machines with the ability to wipe out an entire village single-handed. They have a reputation for baiting their victims before killing them, enjoying tricking and deceiving their opponents, much like cats.

Mauvais Dentes have no qualms endangering innocent bystanders if that would bring them much closer to the designated targets.

The Royal Families are the only organisation considered powerful enough to employ Mauvais Dentes.

Features:

When Mauvais Dentes woge, they grow grey fur over the head and arms, and they develop stripes and enormous teeth.

Mauzhertz:

Mauzhertz (MOWZ-hurts) is a mouse-like Wesen that is typically harmless and shy.

Mauzhertz are, by nature, very timid and exceedingly cowardly, oftentimes afraid of their own shadow. They are very predictable, which makes them easy prey for Lausenschlange (see Wesen: L), their natural predators (Lausenschlange are snake-like Wesen). They do not have any strength enhancement and are generally quite weak.

Mauzhertz are a friendly species and will go out of their way to avoid trouble. Consequently, Mauzhertz have never been at odds with the Grimms. There has only ever been one known rogue Mauzhertz, and the individual was killing Lausenschlange in revenge. This is extremely rare, and this account is probably the only example of a rogue Mauzhertz ever being active. However, despite their passive natures, Mauzhertz can occasionally be found in the seedy parts of society.

Features:

When they woge, they gain beady eyes, whiskers jutting out from a pointed nose, more facial hair, large ears, and oversized incisors. Female Mauzhertz have an overall similar woge, but their amount of facial hair varies from none at all to almost as hairy as males, and they have less pronounced whiskers.

Murciélago:

Murciélago (Mur-cié-la-go) or Geölterblitz (geh-OL-tur-blits) is a bat-like Wesen.

Murciélagos have the ability to produce a sonic shriek that is fatal to humans. The shriek shatters eardrums, pops eyeballs, ruptures nasal passages, and explodes bowels. In addition to their sonic shriek, Murciélagos also possess razor sharp claws that they use as secondary weapons. Blutbaden (see Wesen: B) refer to Murciélagos as Geölterblitz, meaning "bat out of Hell" due to the fact that a Murciélago's screech is particularly harmful to the sensitive hearing of a Blutbaden.

The best way to fight a Murciélago is to use a hand-crank siren known as a Murciélago Matraca, which emits sound waves that temporarily render the Murciélago incompetent, as Murciélagos possess keen, bat-like hearing.

Murciélagos are more agile than humans, able to walk away after jumping out of a two story window onto solid concrete with no visible wounds. They are also more resilient to their own scream attack; it will kill them, but it takes longer than it does with humans, and even after suffering the wounds, they still remain alive for a few minutes. They do not appear to be any stronger than normal humans, but they are quite fast and agile.

Murciélagos seem to have more extreme emotional levels; they can be calm and creative, producing masterpieces; or they can be selfish, spiteful, and caring only for themselves.

Features:

When woged, they have glowing red eyes, leathery brown skin, bat-like features, sharp claws, webbed hands, and vicious rows of teeth.

Musai:

Musai (moo-ZY) is a captivatingly beautiful muse-like Wesen.

he lips of the Musai secrete a psychotropic substance, making its kiss to be known as euphoric and addictive as any narcotic known to man. Once a relationship has been established and sealed with a kiss, it always ends in madness, destruction, and death.

Should a Grimm be kissed by a Musai, the effects of her kiss will begin to affect them much faster than anyone else.

Musai don't seem to try to hide the influence that they have over men. They also don't feel guilty about the death and destruction that they cause, thinking that they have done nothing wrong. They believe that a short, artistic, and passionate life is better than living a long life with untapped potential.

They are passionate about art and target artists or those with untapped creative potential, such as authors or composers. They claim to be able to sense untapped power in people, which is what draws them to their victims.

They normally target one victim at a time, and once their first victim ends up dead or insane after creating masterpieces, they move on to their next target. The relationship between the Musai and their victim causes the victim to become obsessive, willing to kill or die to be with her.

The only way to cure the effects of a Musai's kiss is with true love.

Like many Wesen, they fear Grimms. However, they have no problems manipulating them if a Grimm falls under their influence.

Features:

When a Musai woges, their hair turns red and their skin turns shiny, bluish-green dotted with star-like white freckles that glow. Musai have large, deep blue eyes and long, pointed ears, similar to those of elves.
