Wesen: L
Chapter 17
Wesen in the L category.
Lausenschlange:
A Lausenschlange (LOW-zin-shlong-guh) is a snake-like Wesen.
Lausenschlange are naturally stronger than humans and able to casually overpower humans and Mauhertz (see Wesen: M) . They are very stealthy, allowing them to sneak up on their victims.
Though they have fangs, they fight more like boa constrictors, strangling their prey with the very strong grip of their arms. They consider Mauzhertz their natural prey and will casually kill and eat them. Lausenschlange are known to be naturally aggressive, but they are perfectly capable of living with humans and having normal lives.
One Grimm beheaded a Lausenschlange and opened the creature up to find remains of a brother and sister in its stomach (presumably swallowed whole), showing they will also eat humans. Most Wesen regard Lausenschlange as very dangerous, but some Grimms dispute this and name them cowardly.
Like many types of real snakes who are most dangerous when cornered, the same may be the case with Lausenschlange. Further evidence to support this is that the Lausenschlange a grimm killed only attacked when the latter had worked the former into a corner with no way to escape.
Grimms use a bladed weapon known as a Lausenschlange Halberd to fight and kill them. The head is forged from pure gold and has multiple blades; the large blade is used for decapitation, and the pointed blade is used to slice open the abdomen.
Features:
When they woge, a Lausenschlange's whole body gains yellowish grey scales and a slight boa-like pattern on them. They also gain sharp fangs, a forked tongue, and slit pupils, and they lose all their hair.
Lebensauger:
A Lebensauger (LAY-ben-sou-ger) is a leech-like Wesen.
Lebensaugers use their mouths (described below in 'Features') to suck blood from their victims, usually going for the face or neck. It is unknown if blood is a necessary part of their diet, but considering they are leech-like, it is most likely the case.
It seems Lebensaugers do not have any extra strength in human or Wesen form, having equal strength of a average human.
Due to their hideous appearance, they often experience self-loathing and even identity crisis, preferring to become what they want to be. However, Lebensaugers who do not suffer from self-loathing tend to be sadistic, using fear to get their way.
They are generally considered to be amongst the most repulsive of Wesen and are subsequently known to be prone to substance abuse (alcoholism, drugs, etc).
Lebensaugers are exceptionally good at keeping their true nature a secret and rarely woge in front of other Wesen. They are also very good actors, partially due to their ability and their strong desire to adopt the identity of who they want to be. Their mastery of woge suppression and their acting talents allow Lebensaugers to keep their true natures hidden.
Features:
When woged, Lebensaugers gain brown skin that is lumpy and mottled in appearance, while their nose disappears almost entirely, except for the nostrils. Lebensaugers have large, round, fang-filled, gaping maws in the place of their human mouths. Their mouths naturally hang open but move like a human mouth when they talk.
Löwen:
A Löwen (LOH-win) is a lion-like Wesen.
They are incredibly strong and much faster than humans. They are able to casually overpower and kill humans, and on at least one occasion, Löwen have been able to hold out in a fight with a Grimm. Due to their own powers, Löwen don't fear Drang-Zorn (see Wesen: D), who are incredibly powerful Wesen.
They are capable of lion-like jumps and able to move with incredible stealth, allowing them to sneak up on their victims, much like how actual lions hunt.
They are also incredibly durable creatures, able to withstand incredible force, such as being repeatedly punched in the head by a Grimm or thrown across the room, and recover minutes later.
Löwen have razor sharp claws and teeth. Like actual lions, they generally kill their victims by biting their necks or slashing their throats.
They are naturally aggressive, competitive, and violent, and they are also known for having a horrible temper. Despite this, they are still capable of peacefully living amongst humans and having normal lives.
The Löwen were once kings of a jungle area somewhere in Africa but were captured and forced to fight in the gladiatorial arena by the ancient Romans. Following their capture, the Löwen at some point began the Löwen Games, where they forced other Wesen to fight to the death; in the modern day, however, this is rare.
Features:Upon woging, Löwen undergo a fairly significant change. Some male Löwen grow long hanging hair when they woge, while other males grow large bushy manes. Female Löwen have much less hair when they woge and slightly less pronounced features, though some females, have facial hair in their woged state.
Luisant-Pêcheur:
A Luisant-Pêcheur (lw-EE-zah pesh-UR) is an otter-like Wesen.
Luisant-Pêcheur are incredible swimmers capable of moving underwater at high speeds and holding their breath for an unspecified, yet significant amount of time. However, they are not superhumanly strong and can be easily overpowered and defeated by Grimms. They also don't appear to be any more durable than normal humans.
They are very quiet, kind, and gentle. They are also more at home in the water than on land. They are also similar to Eisbibers (see Wesen: E) but are typically less skittish.
Features:
When they woge, Luisant-Pêcheur grow brown fur all over their bodies. Their fur includes an insulated underfur and an outer layer of fur protecting the inner layer. This unique structure traps a layer of air and keeps them dry and warm while under water. Their fur is thicker around the lower half of their faces, which have whiskers and an otter-like nose. Also, their hands and feet are webbed.
A Luison (lwee-SOHn) is a wolf-like Wesen. They have a heightened sense of smell similar to Blutbaden (see Wesen: B), and they are South American in origin.
Luison can come off as being suave and polite, but they're typically greedy and out to make a fortune. They are not above betraying and manipulating loved ones for monetary gains. On the other hand, they aren't as prone to resorting to violence like Blutbaden (see Wesen: B) and rely more on deception and psychological fear to achieve their goals.
Features:
When woged, Luison's ears migrate to the tops of their heads and become large and fluffy. It is these ears that are a key distinguishing feature between them and their cousin, the Blutbad (see Wesen: B). The skin around their face becomes pale orange, and pale fur grows from the sides of their faces. Their noses become dog-like, and sharp teeth protrude slightly out of their mouths. They have a heightened sense of smell similar to Blutbaden, and they are South American in origin.
