Chapter 5
I sat with my feet in the lake, lazily skipping stones. They didn't go very far for two reasons, because I wasn't trying very hard and because I had no idea how to skip a stone. I wore loose fitting clothing in case tonight went better than expected. The moon was in the sky, and I imagined it turning into a full moon. I shivered. Please let this work.
I closed my eyes. I listened to the night. It was silent. The barrier around Hogwarts that made it look abandoned to muggles and blocked bad magic kept most sounds from the outside out. If a cricket or a frog enters the castle boundaries, it gets turned into an ingredient, anyways.
Suddenly, the silence was interrupted by rustling. Fear crept up my spine, and I turned around. I relaxed when I saw a pair of beautiful eyes staring at me. "Dammit!" Sydney laughed. "I was trying to spook you. I was thinking that you would jump into the lake or something." Her grin spread across her lovely face, and I grinned back.
Sydney took off her shoes and sat down next to me. I smiled. Her toes reached the water. I saw a shiver pass down her spine. I chuckled. She scowled at me, and playfully lifted up her middle finger, but only for a moment. We sat like that for a while. The silence resumed. Once or twice I attempted to speak but my tongue trapped my words. I blinked, and swallowed. I tried again.
"Sydney." I was surprised that my voice worked.
"Nice convincing argument ya got there," she said. "Not lame at all."
"Sydney." I looked at her.
"Yes. I believe that we have established that as my name." Her smile faded, and slowly disappeared. Then I found the words.
"Please don't stop smiling. I would give anything to make you smile. I love your laugh, and you are the only character that the story needs. I dream of you at night. Your drawings make me feel wanted by you every single time you give me one. All I want to do is spend time with you. I need you, Sydney. I don't want you to run. It would be better for you if you stayed. Hell, it would be better for me if I stayed. The point is, we need to stay to keep going. You are my best friend. I don't want to become any less than that. Only more."
I took a breath. Sydney had a blank expression. She looked shocked at the same time, though. "Thomas," she gasped. "I didn't know you had that in you."
"Neither did I."
I had to.
Swept up in the moment, I quickly put my hand behind her hair. I pressed my lips to hers. At first, they were stiff, but then they melted into mine. Our lips danced, and soon, our tongues held hands. It was a moment of magic. I wouldn't have stopped if it weren't for human beings not being able to survive without oxygen. I pulled away and took a full of air. Sydney put a hand in her brown hair. "This is-" she began, out of breath and panting.
"So right." I finished her sentence. I let her take a breath and then went back to kissing her. I put my hand on her head and the other on her back. I slowly lowered her down so that she was laying belly up on the soil. I moved my kisses from her mouth to her neck. I began unbuttoning her shirt, and I came up to see a look of confirmation in her face. I saw nothing but anger and disgust. I received a punch in the nose.
"What the hell was that for?" I yelled, pinching off blood flow.
Sydney quickly stood up. "You slut! You perv! You filthy son of a bitch! I wanted a reason to stay and you tried to RAPE me! Unbelievable! You used me!" She began to button her shirt back up. She had crystalline tears in her eyes. I began to stand. Quicker than lightning, Sydney pulled out her wand and pointed it at my neck. I held still, halfway up. It made my legs burn.
"I don't want to hear another word. Don't come near me, or I will tell Professor McGonagall what happened tonight. You desperate perv. How many other girls have you given a reason to stay? Am I your friend because you have been waiting for this moment?" Her voice sounded hurt. She lowered her wand. A tear rolled down her cheek, quickly followed by another. She began to run back to the castle. The night was dark.
It was 11:11. Twelve hours since my last wish. And it didn't even come true.
New chapter! You've got to feel a little bit bad for Thomas in this chapter. He went strait into sex, and that doesn't necessarily work. I bet you can understand how Sydney felt used. Wouldn't you?
New chapters are on the way! I am trying to edit as I go along. I have seen some edits.
Let me know how you like the story so far! ♥
