Chapter 15
We were all sitting together in the Gryffindor common room. Me, Jake, Scott, and Allison. I never really forgave her for what she did to me, but I have kind of learned to accept it. Things were still awkward between me and Scott. Every time he looked at me, I would break eye contact. Nothing has happened between us since that night but I still feel guilty. Jake has just been so nice to me lately and I feel so bad for what I did to him. He doesn't deserve that.
"Well, I'm gonna go up to bed!" said Jake as he got off of the couch and packed up his bag.
"Yeah, me too. I'm so tired," said Allison as she did the same.
"Goodnight, Danni," Jake said and he kissed my cheek lightly.
"G'night," I mumbled back.
Jake and Allison went up to their dormitories and it was just me and Scott left. Well, not exactly. There were still a lot of people left in the common room, but they were all doing their own thing and not paying attention to us. I looked over at Scott and saw that he was looking back at me. Startled, I looked down again.
"Danielle, you really don't have to be nervous around me," he said as he moved closer to me on the couch. "I'm not gonna hurt you."
"That's not what I'm worried about," I said under my breath.
"Then what are you worried about?" he asked me curiously.
Before I could stop myself, I said "I'm worried about how obsessed you are with me. You want to be with me for some reason even though I'm with Jake. I just need you to stop making moves on me and pretend that night ever happened."
After a brief pause, Scott replied, "Make me."
I was so taken aback by this that I actually looked back up at him. I was angry that he was not taking me seriously and he thought this was all some sort of joke.
