It was a nice, breezy summer day. Max Delroy was packing his book bag for school. He stuffed his last binder in the bag when there was knock on the front door. Max checked his clock and smiled. He strode down the stairs and waltzed to the door to look through the peep hole. His friend Jason was standing outside the door. Max nodded and threw open the door. "Has it really been a week already? when did you get back from vacation?" Max asked his friend.
"I just got back last night. Are you ready for the End of Summer party over at Mic's house?" Jason asked excitedly. Max noticed that Jason couldn't keep still at the mention of the party. Mic was one of the most popular kids in school. His parties were usually the best all year.
"Totally. Hey glad your back though Jay, would you like to come in and chill to some video games?" Max offered. Jason nodded and strode in as Max stepped aside. Max went up stairs and grabbed the controllers for the console and the game. He looked in the mirror and shook his head. He made a mental note to change clothes before the party.
Max came bounding down the stairs with the gaming stuff. Jason was sitting on the couch waiting patiently for Max. Max shook the controllers at Jason. "Ready to get Mopped?" Max asked. Jason narrowed his eyes. "I was gone for a week. Unless you have been practicing your about to get mopped." Jason replied confidently. They played the game for hours until it was time to get ready for the party. Jason had won most of the matches but that was to be expected since Jason was a stronger player than Max. Max went upstairs to put up the gaming stuff and change his clothes. He picked up his keys and twirled them around his finger on his way down the stairs. " Mom! Dad! Going to a party! Be home late!" Max yelled at his parents. When he herd no response he shrugged and walked out the door to his car, Jason hot at his heels.
Max drove to Mic's house and they could hear the music pour out onto the street. Max killed the engine and Jason started dancing all the way up to the door. Max knocked and started dancing himself as a new song came on. The door swung open and Jason and Max danced in. The music was loud and the drinks were pouring. Everyone was having the best night. Max and Jason went into the kitchen to have a break from dancing. "I can't believe we are about to go into our senior year. Do you know where your going after High School?" Max looked at his friend who was shaking his head with a huge smile on his face. " Yea me neither." Max raised a glass of punch and cheered with Jason and partied on into the night. It was early in the morning when Max took Jason home.
