I was born December 9th, 2000, in America.  Both my parents are wizards, technically, but I'll say more on that topic later. 

My name is Aragwen, which is Welsh for "powerful fair one". My parents aren't Welsh, so I'm not sure how my name came about. I have a little brother, who is 11 this year and recently got his Hogwarts letter. He is very excited. 

I told you I would explain why there is a technicality in my blood and I will do so now. Both my parents are wizards, but when they divorced, my father started dating a Muggle woman, and decided to give up being a wizard for her. It would be romantic if she wasn't a wizard as well, hiding it from him.  Neither of them know about the other, even though they're married now. I think it's kind of funny actually, since every once in a while one of them will start to use magic for something, and then stop and hope that the other didn't see anything.  She knows that my brother and I are wizards, but my dad says we got it all from our mother.  She has her suspicions though. But I digress.

I was obviously magically talented from a young age, and had a lot of stimulation from my parents. Perhaps a bit too much? When I was four I got hold of my mother's wand and, using a spell I had once seen her use to light a cauldron, set the garden on fire. 

Speaking of wands, mine is a Willow, with a Unicorn-Hair core, and I got it from Ollivander's five years ago. It still seems like only yesterday that I walked into the musty old shop and tried out several wands before finding my perfect fit. I've never considered myself tall, but my wand is 11 1/2 inches, maybe too long for a girl that is only 5'5" now. When I got it I was only 4'10", so you can imagine how ridiculous I looked with a wand of that size. 

My brother's name is Holden. He is 11 now, which I said earlier, and is joining me at Hogwarts this year. I am not as excited as he for this. I worry that he will constantly pester me about where his classes are, and ruin my study time with my friends, or worse, my leisure time. I can only hope that he does not end up in Ravenclaw with me. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to deal with him in the common room. You should probably be able to tell by now that my brother and I don't exactly have the best relationship. He is annoying, I am a loner.
