September 8th (Tuesday)

Ha! I told you I would write in you today! It is currently 6:30 am and Charlotte woke me up half an hour ago. She keeps waking me up early so we can avoid missing class but classes don't start to 7 am so I usually have an hour of free time. Today I decided I would write in you while I time. Charlotte is running around the dorm searching for her shoe. We share our dorm with two other first year girls. There are other first year Hufflepuffs, they are just in another room. The two other girls are named Alice Clark, who is a Half-Blood, and Elena Hampton, who is also a Half-Blood. 

They are both very nice. They talk about their pets and families at home. Speaking of pets, Lilac is a bit of trouble. She is usually found in the common at midnight, scratching around the burnt out fireplace. I wonder if the fireplaces just turn off with magic... Anyways, I didn't mention it but Lilac also has been sleeping in the fireplace this week! I think I forgot to tell you that yesterday. She is a silly cat.

The sun rose earlier when I woke up. Charlotte just found her shoe and is know searching for her robes. I bet she put them under the bed last night. Oh! She found them. Now she is shouting at me to hurry up or we are going to miss breakfast. I guess I better leave now. I will write in you later after double potions during lunch and maybe a little in the afternoon when I am open. Bye for now.

Ah! The sun is in the middle of the sky, the birds are awake and I am alone at the lunch table. Charlotte said she was just going to get her book for Charms about 30 minutes ago. I am waiting for her to get back so we can eat and leave for the next class. Maybe she lost her book? Now that I think about it I don't see Lucas either. Oh well. I hope they are alright. I am just going to finish lunch and hope to see Charlotte in Charms. I will write in you before I leave for class to tell you if they are back yet. For now I am going to talk with Alice and Elena. 

Okay so I am about to leave for Charms and there is still no sign of them. I am starting to worry a bit but I am sure they will turn up. I asked James and Albus if they had seen them and they hadn't seen them either. Wait, I think Charlotte is coming now. She looks tired. 

Well we are off to class now. At least we know she is back and safe.

So I just finished my classes for today so now Albus, James, Charlotte, Lucas and I are outside by the lake again. The fall air is nice today. I asked Charlotte and Lucas where they were but they just look at each other and laugh. I wonder what they did do. Well it isn't any of my business I guess. James is telling us about his family's summer vacation. They went to the countryside to their uncle Bill and aunt Fleur's house. He says it is really pretty around that area. Albus is reading a book about werewolves he found earlier. Charlotte is sitting next to me reading over my shoulder. You know what? I think Charlotte Young is a silly and nosy girl who is in my business. 

She just smacked me! Now Lucas is reading over my shoulder from my left. I am going to writing in you later. Maybe before bed time? Bye for now!

Well now I can tell you more about today without Charlotte and Lucas breathing down my neck. Double Potions today was nice since I love potions! We learned about some basic stuff today but it was nice. We share potions with the Ravenclaws so Lucas, Charlotte and I went to a table together as the class started. It was funny because we were trying to brew a potion and some boys' potion turned pink and he started laughing as he touched it. The teacher fixed it quickly with a flick of his wand but it was still funny. We finished our potion by the end of the class and went off to our next class. Classes so far are nice and fun. 

Merlin's Beard! I forgot to tell you about my wand! I forgot to tell you in my first entry that my wand is 11 and 1/2 inches alder with a veela hair core. It works really well! I turned a toad red today in Transfiguration today! Ms. Hartwood laughed a bit when she saw it also grew a weird red tail. Charlotte turned her toad orange and it grew an extra head! Apparently growing extra body parts is a side-effect! 

Well I am going to sleep since Charlotte is most likely going to wake me up tomorrow morning. Night!
