Hello Diary! This is Jade Grey, your new owner! My mother gave me you so I could record all my journeys around school though all the stories I hear about diaries in Hogwarts tend to lead to giant snake attacks, which to me are really scary! Anyways, I just boarded the Hogwarts Express and said goodbye to the rest of my family. Jonas, my older brother, is the only one going with me this year. My younger sister, Ellie, is too young and she is going to enter school two years from now! I will be able to go to Hogsmeade by then!  I am waiting for other kids to join my compartment since the train is about to leave and I am still alone with Lilac, my cat. 

Lilac is a silly cat. She likes laying down on my lap and sleeping a lot. Do all cats sleep this much or is it just my cat? Sometimes she plays with her toys at home. I got her a month ago when I first went shopping for all my stuff! She hasn't left my side since I got her! She is so sweet! 

Oh! I think someone is coming! I am going to close you up for now but I will write in you later tonight. I will tell you what house I get and who I meet. See you later tonight!\

Back! Wow that was a rush! Where do I begin? Well I will start at Lucas and Charlotte Young. Well remember when I told you I thought someone was coming? Well someone did. Two blonde haired, skinny, tall first-year twins named Lucas and Charlotte Young came in and asked if they could join me. They were telling me stories about their family and friends. They have two mothers who adopted them and a little brother named Colin. They grew up in Norway until their family moved to Scotland. Well anyways, we started talking and sharing trolleys and then the trolley lady came around! Wow! She had so many treats! My mum gave me some money so I bought some candy for us all to share. We spent so long talking and laughing we didn't even realize how close we were to the school! 

Hogwarts is amazing! It is so big and beautiful! There are so many staircases and levels! The great hall is even more great than I thought it would be! My mum explained Hogwarts looks to me but it is so much better when you see it with your own eyes! When we got in the great hall we started to get sorted. I was so nervous but I ended up getting Hufflepuff with Charlotte! Lucas got Ravenclaw so I haven't talked to him since before the sorting.  After the great feast (which was amazing!) the Hufflepuffs went to our common rooms which was really close to the great hall and the kitchens! You have to climb through a barrel to get to the common room which is a bit weird to me. Anyways, I best be off to bed now. I am going to finish my letter to mum and dad then go to bed. I promise to write in you as much as I can! Classes start tomorrow so I am probably going to be busy.
