The Chronicles Of Cassandra Black: Year 1
Rating has moved up. I will post here but also at Fanficiton.net. Here is the link: www.fanfiction.net/s/11229975/1/... Harry Potter Fan-fiction. Sort of AU. Eventual M/M main pairing. Drarry. If it hits a rating higher than teen then I will move it to Fanfiction.net. Now, time for the real description. There is a species in the Wizarding World that many people often overlook. The Protectors. Protectors are bought by Wizards who want their child to have another set of eyes on them. Protectors do exactly what their title is. They protect and watch their charge. Many Protectors are already connected to a family due to old Pureblood families buying a protector many generations back. Cassandra is a protector for the Malfoy family and is the lovechild of Bellatrix Lestrange and Fenrir Greyback. Her Spiritual Mother's name is Elizabeth. I present, the Chronicles of Cassandra Black: Year 1.

Draco
Chapter 11
A/N The views of Lucius Malfoy are not the views of the writer.
After the fiasco on Halloween, Draco never let me out of his sight. I couldn’t do rounds because he had ordered me to stay with him. I must have worried him a lot. Saturday morning found Draco and I sitting in the common room. The common room was beautiful. It had to have been my favorite place in the castle. It was dark and a little damp but it didn’t smell musty. Draco was lying in my lap while I told him about Justin.
“So, you guys are gonna be an item?” He asked. I smiled at him.
“I hope so.” I said. Vincent, Gregory and Pansy were sitting on the other couch. They were pretending not to listen but doing rather poorly at it.
“Lovelies, when you eavesdrop you need to be focused on one thing and listening instead of just sitting there. For example read a book or magazine and listen to us. Try it.” I said. They picked up books and pretended to read them.
“No, you have to read them because if someone asks you what it’s about you don’t want to look like a fool.” I told them. They all began to read.
“Now, listen to Draco and I talk.” I said. “Draco, how are your classes going?” They began to stop reading. “Keep reading you guys.”
“Well, I have an issue that I’d like to talk to you about alone. But for the sake of them practicing, I’ll say that classes are going very well and I enjoy all of them.” Draco said.
“Okay, we’ll go to my office when you’re ready.” I told him. The others had completely abandoned their books.
“Why can’t you tell us?” Pansy asked.
“Because it’s something important and I just need to tell Cassandra.” He said.
“Fine.” Said Pansy. Draco stood up.
“I’m ready.” He said. I stood up and we walked to my office, which wasn’t far from the Slytherin common room. I walked into the office and sat in my chair. Draco sat in the big chair in front of me.
“What’s up buttercup?” I asked. I put a silencing charm on the door so no one could eavesdrop. Draco began to look fidgety.
“Well, I don’t know how to say it. Maybe it would be better if we created a connection? I’ve read about them. They seem to help but only if the pair is close like we are.” He suggested. I took a minute to think about it. It would make things easier for me, to begin doing my rounds again and for me to keep track of him. The only downside I saw was later on what if we grow apart? I thought about it and decided that it was a good idea.
“Okay, let’s do it. I don’t see an issue with it.” I said. He began to smile. “How do we do it?”
“The incantation is ‘Nexi vitae cum his duobus’. We have to be locked onto each other so take my wrist and I’ll take yours.” He said. I took his wrist and he took mine. I began to say the incantation.
“Nexi vitae cum his duobus.” I said. Just then we both felt a warm wave of air come through us then I began to hear his voice in my head. I put up a mental wall so that he couldn’t hear my thoughts.
“Okay Draco, what is it that you needed to tell me?” I asked him.
“Now that we’re bound to each other, I feel comfortable telling you. Cassie, I think I’m gay.” Draco said. I smiled at him. Of course I knew, I watched him grow up.
“I know.” I said.
“You knew?” He asked. I nodded.
“You have to remember, I practically raised you, hon. I knew that you were gay before you did.” I told him. He began to smile. I was leaning on the desk letting him take it all in.
“So that being said, I like someone.” He said. I laughed at how quick he processed it all.
“Yeah? Who?” I asked.
“His name is Justin Finch-Fletchley. He’s a Hufflepuff though. I don’t think father would approve.” He said. Shit. I forgot that he does have a father and mother and that his father is super strict. And prejudiced. Meaning that he would be the one to throw out his son for being gay.
“Draco, you have to listen to me. You can’t tell your father or you could risk being disowned.” I told him. He looked at me with confusion.
“Your father is very prejudiced and he would not hesitate to kick you out for something so trivial. He wouldn’t understand like I do.” I said. He sat back down in the chair.
“So, I can’t tell my father because he would disown me?” He asked. I nodded and I noticed that tears began to form in my eyes.
“He doesn’t have an open mind like I do.” I said.
“What about godfather Snape?” He asked. I thought about it. Snape isn’t like Lucius but he isn’t exactly fully open minded.
“I wouldn’t tell him straight out but I wouldn’t hide it from him either.” I said to him. He nodded.
“What about my friends?” He asked. He seemed so small. Coming to me for advice and asking my opinion on everything.
“You can tell them if you’d like but you need to be aware that some of them might not understand and they could hurt you.” I said. I wasn’t going to tell him that everything was going to be okay but I wasn’t going to tell him everything is going to be bad either.
“Okay, I’m going to tell Pansy, Crabbe and Goyle.” He said. I nodded. Those three at least would be understanding. “And Blaise.” Now he might be an issue.
“Okay lovely, just be safe okay? I can tell when you’re hurt now.” I said to him. He nodded. He left the room to go tell his friends. I stayed behind. I sat in my chair and my head began to hurt but it was like before I got a vision. I was thrown into the future. I was waiting on the Malfoys while they ate dinner. Draco had to have been about thirteen.
“You wouldn’t believe the day I’ve had. I had to deal with homosexuals at the ministry. That Bill Weasley and his boyfriend.” Lucius said with a sneer. “Absolutely disgusting they are.” I sensed that Draco was about to talk.
“Well what if they’re not that bad, father?” He asked.
“Of course they’re bad. It’s unnatural and an abomination.” He said.
“I disagree.” Draco said.
“Draco. Enough.” Narcissa whispered.
“No, let him continue, Cissa. Which one of your little friends is a pouf?” Lucius asked. I knew this wasn’t going to end well.
“I am.” Draco said. Everyone went silent. Lucius stood up to hit him but I got in front of Draco first so Lucius hit me. He grabbed Draco by the ear.
“Cassandra, pack yours and his things.” Lucius snarled. I stood up from the floor and went to pack his things. Then I came back to reality. I was sitting in my office. There was a knock on my door.
“Come in.” I said. I was drenched in sweat. It was like a bad nightmare.
“Hey Cass. I just saw Justin walking down the hallway with the biggest smile on his face. He asked me to pass on a message. He said he’d pick you up around 5.” Chrystal said. Just then she noticed that I didn’t look good.
“Are you okay?” She asked. I nodded. I would be fine.
“Just a vision about Draco.” I told her.
“Must have been bad if you’re this shaken.” She said. I shrugged.
“If you see Justin, let him know I’ll be ready at 5. Thank you for delivering the message.” I said. She nodded then left. I was left alone with my thoughts. So Draco was gonna lose it and get disowned. Perfect, well I’ll just start saving up now. He has a fund at Gringotts that has a couple galleons in it that I’m sure he forgot about. I’ll just ask to be paid. And if that doesn’t work, I’ll go work down in Hogsmeade on the weekends. Hopefully they’ll give me the job. I noticed that it was getting to be five. I walked out of the office and back to the dormitory. I got dressed for my date. I decided to wear this. I walked into the common room and Draco gave his approval.
“Don’t be home too late. Make sure he treats you like the princess you are. All that good stuff.” He said. It was becoming closer to five and I wanted to ask Dumbledore about payment before I left so that it it doesn’t work out, I could job search in Hogsmeade while Justin and I was out. I left the dormitories and walked to Dumbledore’s office. I climbed the stairs and knocked on the door.
“Come in.” He said. I entered the room. Snape was standing next to the desk. He looked up and walked past me, leaving.
“What can I aid you in my dear?” Dumbledore asked. I raised my chin defiantly.
“”I’d like to discuss payment for my duties here at Hogwarts.” I said, He chuckled.
“You act so much like your mother. She would raise her chin like that when bargaining with teachers.” He said. I snarled.
“I am not my mother.” I said. He held up his hands.
“I never said that you were. I simply said that your actions represent those of your mother’s. Now, about payment. I can’t pay you and then not pay the others. I’m sorry about that. May I ask why you questioned about it?” He asked. I shook my head.
“I’m sorry, sir. I cannot tell you that.” I told him. “Thank you for your time.” I turned and left. So I’d have to work in Hogsmeade. I was so lost in my thoughts that I ran into somebody. It was Justin of course.
“Hey, I was looking for you. You ready?” He asked. Oh yeah! I was so busy in trying to set out the future for Draco I forgot about my date. But I was ready.
“Yeah, I’m ready.” I told him. He led me out of the castle and we began to walk to Hogsmeade.
