A Dreadful Birthday
Chapter 1
"Open up the gift and see whats inside Salamander" "yeah come on i wanna see!!" both Sally's brothers were shaking her shoulders until she agreed to open the present. "alright alright just calm down and sit down." Living alone and having to take care of her two younger brothers Sally didn't get to have many presents. She was always cooking and when the report of the wizard in a white cloak came on the news she would have to tell them to go pack everything they "needed". but now there was no reports of the white cloaked man, so now Sally could finally relax and enjoy her birthday. She was turning 8 years old!. " oh wow you guys got me a snake" Sally was thrilled she never had a pet before in her life up until now so it was a wonderful experience to have one of her own. That is until they heard a knock at the door.
"Salamander? who's that?" Sally went over to check the door. Then she froze and stared in shock and disbelief. There standing in the dark was a white cloaked figure. "get up to your rooms now come on lets go!!" she pulled both of her brothers by the arms. then they all heard a bang as the door flew off its hinges. "Sally i'm scared!" that was the first time Tim the second oldest called her by her nick name "It'll be ok Tim, he won't find us" Then the man had begun to speak "come out little children i won't hurt you i promise i'll play nice" "ok lets be quiet so he won't find us" They waited and waited.
After 2 hours her brothers had fallen asleep in the closet they were hiding in. both of them didn't snore so they were absolutely fine to sleep. Then Sally heard footsteps. They were very very close to the closet. Sally reached out her hand to pull the secret lever. the hands of the man were on the handle and the door flew open she quickly pulled down the lever but not quick enough for the green light to hit both of her younger brothers. Once they were safe outside in the streets near a hospital Sally realized that both of her brothers weren't responding to her voice. she gently put them down beside the road and called out their names "Timothy, Eli" she repeated their names over and over but they didn't respond in that moment she realized they were both gone.
