Dandelions - A Harry Potter Short Story
This is not a story about action. This is not a story about adventure. This is a story about loss. Because sometimes, the hardest thing to say is goodbye. All credits go to J.K. TW AND CW: mentions of death
When Remus Lupin died, a piece of Molly Weasley's heart did too.
No one except Arthur quite understood why she was so heartbroken over his death, and she had spent most of her time mourning his death.
Until one day, Molly woke up and discovered the vase on her dining table.
"Where did this come from?" she had asked Arthur.
"A social worker from the Ministry came by," Arthur said, as he used his wand to clean up some dirty dishes in the sink. "He said it was in Remus' will, but I've no idea why he would want to give you a vase with a dandelion in it..." Arthur turned around to see Molly standing there silently, a tear falling down her face.
"Oh, dear," he said gently. "Do you want to talk about it?"
Molly nodded. "Soon. But not yet."
So they did just that.
This dandelion was different to the other dandelions Molly had given Remus. It was charmed to never wilt.
After spending lots of time looking at it in sadness, Molly had noticed something on the bottom of the vase.
A note.
You've given me so many dandelions to keep. So you deserve one too. Just like the first dandelion you gave me, it will never wilt (at least in my heart).
Molly had made a hiccup of a laugh at that.
With all the dandelions in the world, Remus Lupin
Dandelions might have been such a simple gesture.
But just like a true dandelion, it blossomed, and never wilted once.
