Rushing to the Hospital

Chapter 5

It had been almost three months after the gender reveal, and now Ginny was coming up on nine months pregnant. The date was November 22nd, 2003. The parents-to-be were excited and overwhelmed with the thought of a new child on the way. One night, Harry had just finished packing for their trip to the hospital, when Ginny was still in the bathroom, sick, as he expected. But this time it seemed different. Ginny looked horrible, and wasn't getting much sleep at night. Harry laid down in bed, and Ginny soon came down after him, lying silent beside him. Harry turned his face to Ginny. "Are you okay?" He asked quietly in the dark. She could just make out the outline of his face, and answered, "I've been better,". Harry smiled. "You can wake me up when it happens," Harry said to her. "I was planning on it," Ginny said, laughing. Ginny then winced. "You good?" Harry asked tenderly. "He's just kicking," Ginny answered. "How long?" Harry asked, going protection mode. He shot up. "Harry, calm down, it's only been five minutes," Ginny said. "Well, i'm not sleeping then, until it stops," Harry said. "Harry, if you don't sleep, you will end up looking like me," Ginny said, exhausted. "Then I would look pretty damn good," Harry answered. "Yeah right," Ginny said with a giggle. Ginny tried to fall asleep, but she kept groaning every few minutes, and Harry's concern grew bigger. "Are you generally okay?" Harry asked. "I'll live," Ginny said. "Another ten minutes, and im getting your mum," Harry said. "Don't wake her. Especially over something as silly as this," Ginny said. Harry rolled his eyes. "I don't care. Better safe than sorry," Harry said. "He just needs so space," Ginny said. Harry finally let it drop. "So, about he," Harry said. Ginny looked at him, and flicked a lamp on. He was sitting in the back corner. Harry stared into Ginny's brown eyes. "We need a name," Harry said. "Easy," Ginny said. "You already have one?" Harry asked, raising his eyebrows. "James," Ginny whispered. Harry felt a tear roll down his face. "You want to name him after my father?" Harry asked, shocked. "Of course," Ginny said. "I like that name," Harry said. "I do too," Ginny said. "What about his middle name?" Harry asked. "Sirius," Ginny answered with a smile. "Why don't we name his middle name afterone of your family?" Harry asked. "Maybe we'll do that when we have a girl," Ginny said with a wink. "Let's get through this one first," Harry laughed. Ginny joined in, when she clutched her stomach in pain. "Oh great," She said. Harry jumped up, and ran towards her. Ginny pulled the blanket up over her. "Are you okay?" Harry said hurriedly. "Get........... mum," Ginny said, barely being able to make out the words. Harry cursed under his breath. He raced to Mrs. Weasley's room, and flicked on the lights. Arthur and Molly woke up abruplty. "What's wrong?" Mrs. Weasley asked. "it's Ginny," Harry said, gasping for breath. Mrs. Weasley flew out of bed and raced down the hall. Harry glanced at Arthur, then sprinted up to the top level to get Ron and Hermione up. He banged the door open, and flicked on the light. To his suprise, Ron and Hermione were already up, and they turned toward Harry. Harry closed his eyes and shuddered, then came back to reality. "It's Ginny," Harry said worriedly. Hermione shot out of bed, followed by Ron, and then Harry. They all sprinted downstairs, to find Ginny, Mrs. Weasley, and Mr. Weasley walking to the door. "George! Bill! Charlie! Percy!," Ron yelled as fast and as loud as he possibly could. "IT'S GINNY!" Hermione shouted. The four boys came racing down. "Pack the car!" Hermione said urgently. Harry raced to his and Ginny's room and grabbed their suitcase. He raced back down, and Hermione and Ron were heading to the car. Harry ran out, and to his suprise, it was raining. He stuffed the luggage into the trunk. The Weasleys have learned from past drives to Kings Cross that they needed a bigger car, so they bought a huge mini-van. Harry drove them all, for he was the fastest driver out of them all, and still managed to not get a ticket. Ginny road shot-gun, so she could get out easily. Mrs.Weasley, and Mr. Weasley rode right behind them, in the first row. Next row had Ron, Hermione, and George, and then the last row had Bill, Charlie, and Percy. When Harry reached the Hospital, he rushed Ginny inside to check into a room. The doctors later told them Ginny was going into labor soon. Harry rushed Ginny into a hospital room, and when the operations starter, Harry was sweating. He squeezed Ginny's hand. Hermione stood beside Harry, to comfort Ginny. Ron and Mrs. Weasley sat in the two unoccupied chairs. Harry stood there for a full two hours, before he nearly fell asleep. "Go home," Ginny said quietly. "I'm not leaving," Harry said. Ginny squeezed his hand. "Then go sit and take a nap," Ginny said, nodding toward the open armchair. Hermione looked at Harry. "You should," Hermione said. "I won't!" Harry said loudly. "Harry, you look horrible," Ginny complained. "What if I miss it?" Harry asked. "You won't," Hermione said. "Just get some sleep, love," Ginny said. Harry shook his head. "Please, for me?" Ginny pleaded. "Not long," Harry reassured her. Ginny grinned. He went and sat in the open chair, and fell asleep immediantly.
