I don't mean to meddle
Chapter 9
It was about half way through her sixth school year, and Alexia was pretty much over her father's death. She apologized to Draco and Blaise for leaving them that night, and everything was fine. She was now sixteen years old, and now one year more responsible. Alexia was never herself again after Draco talked her out of joining the dark side. But something was up with Draco. He usually left Hogwarts around six o'clock at night, and arrived back at eleven. Of course, Alexia waited up for him, because she was his best friend. In Alexia's perspective, something had changed about her friendship with Draco. Now, everytime she saw him, her cheeks got heated, and she felt like she couldn't talk. Alexia knew it was nothing though. Blaise sometimes would wait up wth her, but most days he would be too tired and exhausted to wait up, so he would tend to go to bed around nine. Alexia would held Draco study and with his homework, because he was always gone, he never had time to finish it. One night, Draco got up to leave, when Alexia grabbed his arm. "Draco? Where do you go every night?" Alexia asked. "No where," Draco said. "Then can I go with you?" Alexia said. "No," Draco said. "Why not," Alexia asked. Draco had to come up with a lie fast. "I'm meeting up with Astoria," Draco said. "Astoria?" Alexia asked. "Yup," Draco said. "Why?" Alexia asked. Draco hesitated. Should he lie, or come clean? "We're dating," Draco lied. Alexia felt like some threw a hammer in her chest. "Cool," Alexia said, letting go of his arm. Draco nodded, and went on his way. Alexia pressed her lips together. Even though she didn't feel like it, she still waited up for Draco. When Draco got back, he found Alexia lying on the couch, a blanket, and a book. "Hey," Draco said. "Hi," Alexia said, not looking up from the book. Draco sat down next to her. "How was your night?" Draco asked. "Not so good," Alexia said to him. "Why's that?" Draco said. Alexia looked up from the book and at him. "No reason," Alexia said. "Well, you look mad," Draco said. "I'm fine," Alexia said loudly. Draco sighed and opened his textbook for Transfiguration. "How's Astoria?" Alexia asked through gritted teeth. "Astoria? Oh yeah! She's good," Draco said quickly. "You weren't with her were you," Alexia said. Her sudden anger went away. "You caught me," Draco said. "I was at Malfoy Manor," Alexia gasped. "Why?" Alexia asked. "My father sent me to come every day," Draco said. "To do what?" Alexia asked. "I can't tell you that," Draco said. "Why not?" Alexia asked. "Or something very bad could happen to you. Or me," Draco said. Alexia sat up. She gave Draco a hug. "I just am wondering what my best friend is up to," Alexia said. Draco smiled. "Sorry to meddle," Alexia added. "You're good," Draco said. Alexia then let go. "Well, I'm going to bed," Alexia said. Alexia stood up, and went to go to the common room, when Draco grabbed her hand. "Lexi," Draco said. "yeah?" Alexia asked, turned around. "You've changed since fourth year," Draco said. "Is that a good thing?" Alexia asked. "Yeah," Draco said. "Is that all?" Alexia asked. "No," Draco said. "What now?" Alexia said. She sat back down. "Will you finally go out with me?" Draco asked, grinning. Alexia debated. Should she? "Yes," Alexia answered. Alexia then stood up, and went to bed. Draco laughed at the ground. "Score," He said out loud, and fell backwards on the couch smiling.
