You Can Change, But I Know You Can't
Chapter 5
(A/N) That was the end of their fourth year. Now they are fifteen, and in fifth year.
It was half way through fifth year. They were all stuck with their midterm tests before the holidays. When every Slytherin had finished, the common room wasn't even packed. Everyone pretty much went to bed at four o'clock. Alexia and Draco were nearly the only ones in the common room. "Draco?" Alexia said to Draco, who was sitting on the other end of the couch. Alexia had a book in her hand, and was reading. "Yeah?" Draco asked, pulling the Daily Prophet down. "Can I tell you something I have never told anyone before?" Alexia asked. "Hit me," Draco said. "Do you think I could be a Death Eater?" Alexia asked. Draco sat up. He had had it. "Lexi! You are not a Death Eater!" Draco said. He didn't let Alexia talk. He just let out everything he needed to say. "I know who you are! I've known you since you were nine. I've been there. I was there when you got your Hogwarts Invitation. I was there when your mom passed away. I was there for her funeral. I was there the first day of Hogwarts, and I have been for the past four years," Draco said. "Draco I know, but this isn't your choice to make," Alexia said. "Then who's is it?" Draco asked. "Because it's not yours. You don't want to be a death eater do you?" Draco added. Alexia started crying. "I don't," She said. By now, everyone had gone to bed, and they were the only ones awake. "I know you don't," Draco said. "But I have to do it," Alexia said. Draco shook his head. "You don't!" Draco said. "I have to. I already have told him I was pretty determined to join," Alexia said. "That doesn't mean you have to," Draco said. "What if he'll kill me?" Alexia asked. "I won't let him," Draco reassured her. Alexia then gave him a hug. "Thanks Draco," Alexia said. Something about the hug was warm. Alexia felt her heart warm up a little bit. Maybe not every heart is made out of stone, she thought. Maybe you were made to feel feelings. To live life. Alexia hugged Draco tighter. Whatever she was feeling, she didn't want him to let go.
