Chapter 5

Harvesting & Moon Cycles


Harvesting is the end cycle for some plants. To harvest, use the Severing Charm or your hands. A concern to be aware of is fragile flowers, leaves, & fruit. If wild harvesting, avoid animals or creatures that might be distraught.

New Moonlight Gentle potions used for children, elderly, pregnant, breastfeeding, poisons are powerful, side effects of harvested plants are stronger

Waning Moonlight Harvest leaves, stems of herbs, reason unknown, sleeping potions, divination plants


Puffapods


Puffapods grow like a bush with pink pods on its limbs, & each pod is the size of a fist. Inside the pods are beans & they range in color, but are shiny. The beans will bloom in mer seconds of them touching ground. Any lengthy amount of time on solid surfaces can activate their bloom. Puffapods like alkaline soil that ranges from 8.0 to 8.5. They require soil that is well-drained due to being easy to over water & full sunlight. When puffapods bloom, its flower is used for salads & as a sweetener in teas. The beans are used for restoring potions & potions for pregnant women. When ingested as a standalone, hallucinations may occur. The beans must be transported by the Levitation Charm to avoid blooming. To store the beans, use the Anti-Germination Charm or use the Repelling Charm on the seeds & the jar used. Use jars that has the Unbreakable Charm on them. To harvest puffapods, use the Maturation Charm & ensure the pods have shiny silver veins. To cut, use the Severing Charm & levitate the beans into its proper jar for storing.

Incantation: Minium (MIN-ee-um)
Wand Movement: A downward corkscrew
Willpower: Low
Concentration: Medium


Fun Facts
When harvesting fruits, harvest less mature fruits when storing away & harvest mature fruits when using within a short time frame.
Avoid harvesting too early, as it may not be fully developed enough to harvest. Also avoid harvesting too late, as it will already start to decay.
Trolls are sensitive to Puffapod leaves; many wizards & witches plant them around homes to ward them off.
Puffapods are classified as Class F: Reactive plants.
