Hermione was growing suspicious of Ron. She has been asking Ginny and Harry what's up, but they answer “A surprise.” Ron was acting differently. Hermione thought the whole school knew something she hadn’t. Hermione was walking around a corridor and found some Hufflepuffs talking about something. “Hello Ladies.” Hermione said to the Hufflepuff girls. “O my god! Has he asked you yet!” One of them said, “Veronica! Of course not, look at her hand!” Another one said. Veronica looked at Hermione’s bare hand. “Oh I guess he hasn’t.” Veronica said. “Who?” Hermione asked. “No one.” Another one said. “Well, someone.” They added. Hermione stormed out of the corridor. “If no one will tell me what’s going on, I’ll find out myself.” She mumbled. “Tell you what?” Ron asked. “Oh. Why is everyone so suspicious? They keep asking me ’Has he asked you!’” Ron kissed Hermione. “I bet they were just wondering if I gave you this bracelet.”  He handed Hermione a gold chain bracelet with the Deathly Hallows sign. “Oh, Ron, it's lovely!” She said, She kissed his cheek and kept walking down the corridor. Ron kept walking his own way. He saw Harry and Ginny walking down the corridor next to him. He could hear them talking. “I can’t wait!” Ginny said, with her bright red hair in a ponytail. “I bet Hermione will ask you to be her bridesmaid.” Harry said. “I don’t know.” Ginny said, with a modest look. “C’mon! Hermione will be so lucky to have someone as beautiful as you.” Harry said. Harry and Ginny stopped. Ginny lent in and kissed him. Ron quickly turned toward the way Hermione went. Ron eventually caught up to Hermione. “Ron? What’s happening?” Hermione asked him. “No. Just Harry and Ginny.” Ron said. “Oh. Anyway, I wanted to talk to you.” Hermione said. “Okay, what?” Ron asked. “I’ve got to get down to the grounds. I’m meaning to talk to Hagrid, because I haven’t seen him. Wanna come?” Hermione said. “Sure!” Ron said. “I’d take anything to go see that ole man.” “He’s not an ole man. He is an injured wizard.” Hermione said.
