    Nessy grabbed the small bag of money that she hadn't put in her secret savings account (That's how she bought the tickets) and walked over to the Target around the block. '"I have twenty dollars." Nessy said on her way there "I'll buy the test and some soda. That's all I need, Then maybe tomorrow I'll use the rest of my money to buy some breakfast at the airport."  Nessy got to the store and got the pregnancy test and a 12 pack of Pepsi. She looked down as she got to the cashier. Thankfully, he didn't ask what she needed the test for. "That'll be twelve dollars and fifty cents." Nessie handed him the money and got the change. "Thanks." She said and left. As Nessy approached her block she heard fire engines and ambulances, she smelled smoke and heard the yelling of paramedics. She ran to her house and saw the fire. "Sweetie, we need you to stay back." A male paramedic said as she tried to go through the police tape. "I live here." Nessy said "What happened?" 

    "Someone in the house lit a match in the upper left room. Whoever did it must have gotten out of control." The paramedic said "Or at least that's I've heard."  Then, there was a yell "Jack!" a female voice yelled from near the house "There was a man in the house! Help me get him in the ambulance!" Jack ran to the girl and helped her fold the bottom of the cot lower then put Nessy's "dad" in the ambulance 'It's not like I cared about him' Nessy thought 'He just abused me anyway.' "Sweetie--" Jack started "I have a name! It's Nessy." Nessy cut him off "Okay, /Nessy/, is the man that was in your home your father?"

"Yeah, my adoptive father. Steven. He's an ass. He abused me and then rap--" She stopped remembering what Steven said "What, Nessy?" Jack said "Oh, nothing." Jack nodded then said "We're sending you to an adoption center. You'll bunk with a girl named Nemo." Nessy nodded "Okay."
