Notes From A History Of Magic

written by Gemma Whimsey

This is a collection of notes I took during my first year of Hogwarts from A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot. I will add more content as time allows me. Please check back for more content until I write COMPLETE at the end of this description or PAUSED. PAUSED means that I will not be able to add for a while. An approximated date of return will be given if this happens.

Chapter 1: Introductions And Biographies

Chapter 1

  • Bathilda Bagshot received her information for the book from wizards and beasts, a practice not commonly done in her time.
  • When the first volume of her book published, about 20% of her information was not previously known by wizards. This percent of information was the result of guesswork from the information she received from wizards and beasts.
  • archaeology- method used by Muggles to study artifacts and fossils buried below the ground to study history.
  • Wizards focus more on experimental spell and potion making instead of developing a way to study history effectively.
  • Colin the Conqueror never existed and was actually a character made by the Goblin group who claimed he was to intimidate the Wizarding Armies
I will be creating Notes for the second chapter shortly-Gemma Whimsey
