Chapter 7- Parent’S House

Chapter 7

I'm sorry I haven't updated in forever. I love you guys.
Keep reading! The school year has just ended and so I will be updating more.
Yay!!! Here's the next chapter....

-------------------------------------------------------

"Mom, Dad I'm home." I said as soon as soon as I
apparated into the house. And, a few seconds later they both came rushing into
the room.

"This is Draco. Draco Malfoy. He went to school at
Hogwarts with me. And, if you don't mind, we will be upstairs talking." I
said.

"Pleasure to meet you,
Draco." My dad said.

"Oh. The pleasure is mine, Mr. Granger." Draco
replied politely.

'Has he really changed?' I thought. But I quickly shook it
off.

"We'll be upstairs. Call us when lunch is ready."
I said, breaking the silence.

As we walked up the stairs, Draco said "Your parents
are really nice, Hermione. Why didn't you ever talk about them?"

This caught me off guard. "Thanks." I said.
"Well before the war, I was afraid that when I was gone with Harry and Ron
that Voldemort would come looking to know where I was here and hurt my parents.
I didn't want that to happen so I oblivated their memories. I did it to protect
them. It was really hard to do." I replied, fighting off tears. "They
don't remember anything about the war. It just seemed easier. So I didn't like
to talk about them after that. It just hurt too much." I said.

"I'm sorry. You shouldn't have had to do that. I
shouldn't have said anything." Draco said, trying to be nice.

"It's not your fault." I replied.

"Yes. It is. I joined them. I hurt people, Hermione. I
watched people die. I watched you get tortured. And, all those times, I did
absolutely nothing to help." Draco said firmly. "I made the most
mistakes out of anyone. And, I have to live with it. Knowing how I could have
done something-"

"I know you've made mistakes. But, that's all in the
past. All that matters is how you choose to go about your life. You truly have
changed Draco. You have changed." I cut him off.

"Thank you. And I'm sorry I got tense." He
replied.

"Anytime. And it's okay. Everyone gets tense once in a
while." I said.

"So, did you get invited back to Hogwarts?" He
asked calmly.

"Yes. I was shopping for my school and then I ran into
you, remember? Did you?" I said.

"Oh that's right. And yeah. It should be a lot more
interesting this year from the war and everything that's happened. Do you know
who head girl is by any chance?" He questioned.

"Yeah. I'm head girl." I replied.

"Really? Congratulations! I'm head boy. Looks like we
will be seeing each other a lot more then." He stated.

"Yeah. I guess so. And congratulations!" I said,
trying to act excited.

"Oh I have to go." He said. "I have to be
home by noon. My mother might kill me otherwise. Well, I'll see you on the
train. Bye, Hermione. Thanks for having me." He said in a hurry.

"Okay. Bye, Draco. It was good to see you." I
said.

And with that he apparated.
