Electricity Sucks
Chapter 3
I'm heading out. Quidditch always makes me feel better. I love the air on my face, the way I can spin and swoop freely. It's cloudy, and cold, too, so there is only one group hanging around, throwing tennis balls up to each other. I clamber onto my broom. Then, I'm off. The cool air feels good on my still-hot face.
I think back to after class. Una, giggling, told me, "The hospital wing's that way." Tyler was standing right there! No. No. I won't think of him. I soar higher, higher. Hovering, I look down at the pitch. It's starting to rain, so the group is packing up. Only one person is left. Hopefully, they won't see me.
I drop a little, about level to the large, golden circles that are the goals in Quidditch. I swoop in and out, enjoying myself. Even though I'm not on a team, I still love to come out and mess around. Who knows? You might pick up a cute 7th year. I'm only a 5th year, but you know how it is with guys.
Lightning lights up the sky. I should probably come down, but I allow myself one more swoop through the goal.
Then suddenly, everything goes dark. The last thing I remember is falling, falling.
When I finally open my eyes, I can barely see. My eyes have those nasty little crusted things that I get when I sleep. I rub them away and realize I'm in the hospital wing. What happened?
