Chapter 4
When they turned around to set off, an old wizard was standing right in front of them. He had crooked teeth, broken glasses, and an aged, beaten-up hat. He wore a black cloak that went all the way to the ground and wore a wicked smile on his face.
"Lost, are you?" he asked. His tone was very deep for his look.
"No we aren't." lied Hetra. She knew lying was the only way to get out of this situation safely. Then, the old man looked at her right in the eye, which gave her a feeling that felt very uncomfortable; a feeling that the man was looking into her soul.
"LIERS!!!" he yelled. Lillie looked at her surroundings with no particular reason. They were indeed on a random street, and whichever way she looked seemed to be identical.
"Oy, hold on a second there, will ya?" shouted Terry.
"Why will I wait for help to arrive for you?" replied the old man.
"Look, who are you and what do you want?"
"Go over there with me, and I will tell you."
The old man pointed towards the smallest building. It looked unfinished, the walls and roof had holes everywhere, and Energie saw that there were chains, like hand-cuffs, hanging from the ceiling. "Hey, look, there's NO way we're going in there!" he said. "Oh, ho ho ho, get prepared, then!" said the old man gleefully. He snapped his fingers, and the instant he did, the kids felt their feet being lifted off of the ground again, but this time, landed lying on the ground in a pub.
"What happened to you?"
"Are you all right?"
"Does anything hurt?"
Terry opened his eyes. People were swarming around him wearing the same cloaks the old man did. He looked at his watch. It was literally eight o'clock in the afternoon; they had been outside for the whole day.
"Look, I don't have time here, I have to go to Diagon Alley!" he said in an urgent voice. The other three kids woke up from their unconscious sleep.
"Yeah, we really have to go to Diagon Alley." agreed Lillie in a dreamy voice. "May you help us get there?" Hetra and Energie simply nodded in agreement; they couldn't find their voice.
However, once this question was asked, the people started to fade. They turned into transparent ghosts, into dust, and then nothing. Now Hetra, Energie, Lille, and Terry were alone in the pub. How strange.
