Is The Letter A Fake?
Chapter 2
"Um, guys? What are those black dots moving in the sky?" asked Energie. The four kids were all inside the wooden house, and were talking about how well they did on their school SBA's (Standard Based Assessment) until Energie switched to a different subject. "Those are owls, and I think they're carrying something on their feet." replied Hetra, gazing up at the dots. "Wow, they're coming closer to us!" Then Energie asked, "Are we really special after all?" Nobody answered. They were all looking at the sky, curious about what was going to happen next.
After moments of waiting and excitement, the owls landed. There were exactly four, and they all had some sort of envelope tied to them. Terry, Hetra, Energie, and Lillie opened them with uncontrollable shaking hands, feeling nervous. The envelopes were shining bright, and there was a picture at the front. There was a picture of a snake, a badger, a lion, and a raven. When opened, the words written on the parchment were written in green ink, obviously not printed, but handwritten. Each of them read the their own letter in silence, and when all of them finished, they were completely bewildered by it.
"It's not true, is it?" asked Lillie. "I really think that I'm dreaming! We really ARE different!"
"We are not in our dreams." replied Hetra, the smart one. "Well, at least I'm not. I could sense it."
"Hogwarts..." Terry kept repeating," Hogwarts...This is unbelievable!"
"But the question we have now is..." began Energie. Everybody stared at him. "Is the letter a fake?"
"What do you mean?" asked Terry.
"I mean that did somebody else write this besides this Dumbledore guy, like a stranger or something? They might be writing this so they could kidnap us!"
"Professor Dumbledore, Energie." Interrupted Hetra. "You want to show respect to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Oh, yes, I did say the school's full name to respect it as well." she added when Energie gave her an interesting look.
"Oh, whatever."
They spent a long time deciding whether the letter was fake or not. Hetra did not even talk. She was busy examining the paper, and putting some white power on it and blowing. When she realized the other three friends of hers stopped talking to think about the situation they were in, she decided that this was the time to tell them the information she's found.
"I found out that this letter was actually written by Dumbledore. I looked at the finger-prints on the parchment, and they all seem to be from the same person."
"Cool, but what if someone made their own name Dumbledore?" asked Lillie.
"Yes, that might be something to consider. I really wonder if this letter really IS a fake?" said Hetra.
"Well, at this point, I think there's only one way to find out." finished Energie.
"What?" said the other three at the same time.
"First of all, we should go to this mysterious Diagon Alley place, and then," Energie looked from Hetra to Terry to Lille, "we should actually go to the King's Cross Station. If the train to platform 9 and 3/4 is fake and someone made it up, then we know it's a fake."
The four kids looked at each other in silence until Terry, who hasn't been talking for a long time said, "Let's get ready for September 1st. I know we don't have any money, but we ought to try, shouldn't we?"
The other kids agreed, went to their own houses, and had a good night's sleep, wondering about platform 9 3/4 and whether they will get kidnapped or not.
Is the letter really a fake?
