The Movement Of The Green
Chapter 10
Queen Tilia was not one to shy from a fight. She led her army with fierce tactics and merciless strikes. The day after agreeing to fight with the Red, queen Tilia marched the Green hard and fast, and soon they had arrived at the Blue border. Queen Tilia motioned to her troops to set up camp as night began to fall. A watch was established and a silence fell over the Green. The watch was changed every two hours, and, half way through the third shift, a dark shape cut through the night. It killed the two watchmen without a sound. Like a wave of silent death, black clad gnomes poured into the camp. The gnomes split into squads and surrounded the camp, a burning arrow was fired into the air and the soldiers attacked. Hell rained as Green gnomes fell under the blades of the dark attackers, flames licked the tents, gnomes scrabbled every which way to escape the burning enemy.
Queen Tilia awoke to the smell of smoke. Wiping sweat from her eyes, she pushed herself into a sitting position, grabbing her bow and arrows, she lept out of the burning tent. Tilia surveyed the burning camp, her eyes came to rest on a long metal pole with a black cloth fluttering in the breeze from the top. It took a second to register, but then with a feeling of dread she realized who had attacked.
"Run!" she screamed to her troops.
And they ran as fast as they could to escape the Black.
