Conch Trumpet
Chapter 2
Rieana, a selkie, stood tall on the same rock her mother held her in years ago. She didn't have a voice, because she didn't have her selkie coat. The one trinket that held signs from the past was the one in her hands, a conch shell. When she blew it, it sounded like a singing voice, a very beautiful one. She felt the breeze blow, as the sound from her conch shell echoed across the ocean. She had this shell since she could remember, and it was a prized possession to her. She blew again. What she didn't know, was that so where in the distance, on the shore at the horizon, something stirred. The conch echoed to it, and awoken it. It had been looking for this for so long... A wave splashed up onto the rock. Rieana's raggedy clothes blew in the wind. When Rieana blew on the shell, she thought she heard so,etching respond, another, more trumpet-like sound.
