Voldemort's real name is Tom Marlovo Riddle. He was born on December 31st, 1926. His dad is a muggle called Tom Riddle. His mom is Merope Gaunt. Gaunts are descendants of Salazar Slytherin.Merope was in love with Tom Riddle, but Tom doesn't in love with her. So Merope made Tom drink love potion, and Tom was in love with her. They hided from their families. A year later, Merope had a baby with Tom. Because she wanted Tom to truely love her, Merope stopped using love potion for Tom. She thought Tom will love her because she had a baby with Tom, but she was wrong. Tom found out the truth, and left Merope, came back home and said with his family that it was a lie. Merope was alone. After that, noone saw her. At the last night of 1926, she gave birth to a boy in front of a orphanage. She tried to live for 1 hour to give her son a name: Tom Marlovo Riddle. Then she died. She can use magic to save herself, but she didn't, because her dream about a happy life had an end, and she died, left her son, who very needs Merope. So Voldemort lived in that orphanage till he was eleven, then he came to Hogwarts school. All descendants of Salazar Slytherin are dead, so Voldemort became the last descendant of Slytherin.
