Before the age of eleven, I had only heard of muggle magic. This consisted of long, rhythmic poems that they call spells, grinding kitchen herbs and backyard flowers to create "potions," and wands made out of sanded-down tree branches, with no form apart from a normal stick. Though I sound hesitant and negative about muggle magic, I do not mean it this way, since I have partaken in the younger witchcraft of muggle magic. I, myself, still have my muggle wand, though I now use my magical wand.

I came upon my magical wand just the ordinary way. I chose it at Ollivander's; or rather, it chose me. My wand is a 10 inch solid Willow wand with a Unicorn Hair core. When I walked into Ollivander's Shop, I instantly felt a connection to a wand, but I hadn't known which one. I tried a couple of wands; an Ash wood, Vine wood, and Acacia wood. Honestly, the Vine wood wand could easily have chose me. It was all too perfect for me; but there was one thing that threw me away from it, and that was that although the wand was outstandingly beautiful and perfect in my grasp, I did not feel the connection that I felt when I walked into his shop. So I put it aside in case I couldn't find the wand that gave me that feeling. Ollivander then handed me the Willow wand and before I even grasped it, I felt that connection. I felt it's energy move through me, while mine through it. I knew that this would be my wand forever.

Now that I have had my wand for a few weeks, I have been better able to control it. The wand suits me and my energy perfectly. I have been able to cast spells from classes very easily and quickly, without any hesitation or trouble. I can see my future being full of adventure and learning to become a bright witch with a subtle, yet powerful wand.
