Wandlore: A Very Short Guide

Chapter 3

Charms Lesson 2 asks
for the details of one's wand: wood, core, length, and flexibility.
All these aspects can be assigned to you by Pottermore's quiz, but some might
feel that the traits aren't right for them – or don't understand what the
traits are.

So here's my condensed version.

The wands of war heroes Harry Potter,
Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley all line up with their birth dates under the Celtic tree calendar. Further meanings
are assigned in Ollivander's notes,
which I will summarize:

Jan 21 – Feb 17 = Rowan

Feb 18 – Mar 17 = Ash

Mar 18 – Apr 14 = Alder

Apr 15 – May 12 = Willow

May 13 – Jun 9 = Hawthorn

Jun 10 – Jul 7 = Oak

Jul 8 – Aug 4 = Holly

Aug 5 – Sep 1 = Hazel

Sep 2 – Sep 29 = Vine
