Muggle Wandmaking

Chapter 2

Here's something I've found useful – are you ever without
your wand and need a substitute while practicing spells? Maybe you need a fake
wand for a prank?

Materials:

- hot glue gun

- brown paint

- thin wooden dowel
(ex)

Tutorials can be found with an easy search, and the process
is straightforward – apply hot glue to the
lower few inches
of the dowel, either uniformly (to create a raised layer
of hot glue) or spiraling up the wand (with a "vines" affect) to form
a handle. Let the glue dry and, if
you want a thicker handle, repeat.

Once the glue dries, paint your wand! If you have only one
shade of brown, try to apply it unevenly and blot at the paint with a tissue – if the brown is too uniform, it won't look like real wood.

Images of my own wand are coming.

Beginning this summer, I hope to start advanced Muggle wandmaking and create custom wands of specific wand woods, containing hawk feather and horse hair cores, among others!
