The Lakir can easily camaflouge itself with the mud and seaweed surrounding its dwelling, thus making it hard to catch. And it can startle people by rising out of the water suddenly in a dragon like way. It can also blow out a foggy green horrible smelling breath which it uses to set diversions and warn of predators. It can also attract its prey, the snowdrop frog this way. But its most deadly weapon is most certainly its poisonous fins. One touch, and you will die in minutes. It is said that once, during a triwizard tournament many years ago that these creatures were used as a danger for the champions to pass by. But it is also said that one champion died on the second task because  of there poison. That is the only recorded death that there has been.
