'Summer...' thought Alice. The gentle breeze shook her hair slightly. She looked up. The sun was shining and a blue bird was sitting in it's nest. 'What a pretty bird.' said Alice. 

       'Alice! Alice!' screamed a girl as she ran up the hill. 'Lavender?' asked Alice in a  

surprised tone. A slender girl with dark brown hair and grey eyes was standing there. She was panting and her hands were on her knees. 'Alice! I've been looking for you!' said Lavender. 'Jeremy told me that you're here.' 'I see. Is there something that you want from me?' asked Alice.

       'Yes. Mr. Wonlee wants to see you.' 

       'Mr. Wonlee?' Alice squealed. Mr. Wonlee was a kind old man who lived in a narrow street. He owned a library and would always lend Alice books. 

 Alice rushed down the hill. She knew that Mr. Wonlee had new books. And she loved books.

Lavender didn't bother chasing after her. She new that she could not catch up to her cousin. Moreover, she was exhausted. So she collapsed on the grass and looked up at the sky. 

 'She's just like the sky' , she thought. Lavender didn't knew from where that thought came from. But she was too busy to wonder. So she closed her eyes and went into a deep sleep.
