I just wanted to try out a few things... It did not go as planned.
In retrospect, I guess the first mistake was probably not asking anyone to help me.
It wasn't anywhere near as disastrous as it could have been, but the end results were definitely an inconvenience.
First, I attempted 'Aguamenti', a charm which is supposed to cause a jet of water to come out of the caster's wand.
The end result for that one was me getting soaked.
Then, because clearly one disastrous attempt at spellcasting wasn't enough, I picked one at random - 'Confringo', which causes anything it hits to burst into flames. The disaster here was that it actually worked - and it hit my notes from Herbology. Clearly, fire does beat grass.
The third, and thankfully final mistake, I attempted 'Silencio' on my cat, Star - she just kept meowing.
That was the end of that, and I am going to leave learning these spells for when I'm capable of not burning my class notes.
For now, I think I'm just going to keep studying magical creatures and solving riddles.
