Hun And Po (Incomplete)
Chapter 4
WARNING - INCOMPLETE CHAPTER!
Hun and Po, 魂魄, the "soul" and the "body". In most culture it is believed that other than a physical body all of us has a spiritual body called the soul. In Maoshan Taoism each of us is made out of 三魂七魄, literally meaning three "souls" and seven "bodies". All of these adds up to form one entity, meaning the soul we have now. Complete and untouched.
So what exactly is Sanhun Qipo, To break it down 三魂七魄 are:
Ren
(Heaven, Earth, Man)
(Happiness, Anger, Sadness, Fear, Love, Evil?, Desire/Lust)
There is a saying, "when a man dies, the seven "bodies" disperses, the three "souls" shall one return to the grave, one to god and one to the netherworld in wait for reincarnation".
