"Charlie you know my father will be mad. He doesn't particularly like you." I tell Charlie 

Charlie just asked me to marry him and I said yes until I realized that my father would freak.

"I know but still we can tell your father together." Charlie says

We walk to my father's house and walk in. My father is sitting in his studies reading the newspaper. 

"Erika, Charlie how are you?" He asks

"Just fine but we have something to tell you." Charlie says 

"Okay what is it." my father says

"We're getting married." I say

My father stares at me like I am kidding and then he starts laughing.

"You guys made me laugh I have to say. Wait you are serious are you." he says

"Yes we are." Charlie says

"Well then I guess since I am your father you want me to escort you down the isle?" my father asks me in a duh kind of way.

"Why yes father that is why we wanted to talk to you!" I say in a happier tone then what he used.
