Salazar Slytherin was born before 976 somewhere around Ireland or Scotland & died around the 11th century. While alive, he discriminated against Muggle-borns & believed that any other blood statuses other than pure blood should not be apart of the wizarding world. He was also an ancestor to Tom Riddle, whom was a Dark Lord & thought the same as Salazar. He had a gold locket with the letter “S” which is said to contain Dark magic. When structuring Hogwarts, Salazar thought of his house crest to be of a snake, indicating cunning as the show front of all traits & colors that bleed green & silver. The gemstone that is associated with Slytherin are emeralds & the water element accompanies the house.

Salazar believed that only pure-blood wizards & witches should attend Hogwarts & he disagreed with the other founders about letting Muggle-borns attend. This eventually lead to the splitting of the founders & ended up with Salazar leaving the school. His best friend was Godric Gryffindor, but parted ways due to the disagreement. Slytherin house created the most Death Eaters & Dark Wizards known to present day & built the Chamber of Secrets with a Basilisk to one day rid Hogwarts of Muggle-borns. The Slytherin Common Room is located in the dungeons under the Black Lake. The ghost that is connected to the Slytherin house is The Bloody Baron, whom is cunning towards students. Some famous Slytherins include Tom Riddle, Draco Malfoy, Dolores Umbridge, Severus Snape, & Horace Slughorn.
