Helga Hufflepuff was born before 976, in Wales, around the 10th century & died around the 11th century. While alive, she fought against the discrimination & abuse of house elves & employed some for kitchen duty at Hogwarts to aid in keeping them safe. She also was fond of food & cooking, & so she invented many recipes & charms for the students of Hogwarts to eat. She had a special golden cup which is said to have powerful magic within it. When structuring Hogwarts, Helga thought of her house crest to be of a badger, indicating patience as the show front of all traits & colors that bleed yellow & black. The gemstone that is associated with Hufflepuff are yellow diamonds, & the earth element accompanies the house.

“Honesty before glory”

Helga believed that all blood statuses should attend Hogwarts, treated all students as equals, & accepted all students who did not fit the character traits of the other three houses. Her best friend was Rowena Ravenclaw, & made friends with almost everyone, respecting all backgrounds. The Hufflepuff Common Room is located in the basement of Hogwarts, right nearby the kitchens. The ghost that is connected to the Hufflepuff house is The Fat Friar & he loves to be jolly towards the students. Some famous Hufflepuffs include Newt Scamander, Cedric Diggory, Nymphadora Tonks, Pomona Sprout, & Susan Bones.
