Once I get to Hogwarts I wait for the sorting to begin. She tells us the four houses are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. 

Professor McGonagall takes us into the great hall. 

She explains that she call our names then we are to have the sorting hat placed on our heads for the sorting.

"Erika Snape." Professor McGonagall says and everyone else gasps and whispers like the Professor just said something wrong. 

I look around and walk forward. I notice a Professor sitting at the Professors table looking at me strangely. I sit on the stool and Professor McGonagall places the hat on my head. 

"Ah this little one is a very difficult one. I remember sorting your mother and father. Your father was a Slytherin while your mother could be sorted into Gryffindor and Ravenclaw but she was Gryffindor. I see you value what house values in your everyday life. You can be sorted into all four houses. Professor McGonagall this child can pick which house she wants to be sorted in." the sorting hat says

"My mother was a Gryffindor so I want to be a Gryffindor." I whisper so only the hat can hear it

"Gryffindor!" shouts the hat.

I walk down to the Gryffindor table as everyone is clapping. I look back to the Professors' table and see that same Professor still looking at me. 

"Percy who is that staring at me?" I ask

"Oh that is Professor Snape." Percy says

"What does he teach?" I ask Percy

"Potions." Percy says

A few other names are called then everyone is allowed to eat. After the feast we head to our dormitories. I prepare for the next day when Hermione Granger, First  year Gryffindor, comes to me.

"Your Erika Snape. Are you related to Professor Snape?" Hermione says

"I don't know." I tell her

"Well, I was just going to ask you if you wanted to be my friend?" Hermione asks me

"Sure." I say

"Hannah Abbott." Professor McGonagall says

"Hufflepuff!" said the hat

Harry Potter and Ron Weasley who also got sorted into Gryffindor sit across from us.

"Well then we should get to bed to be rested for tomorrow." she says

"Yeah we should." i say 

Everyone in the room goes to bed. 

I shut my eyes and wake up to a start.
