Potions are amazing in many ways, and the brewing process is even more interesting. Yet the brewing process can be dangerous, and it's always good to take proper precautions. When brewing potions always have Dragon-Hide Gloves, Goggles, and a Eye-Safety Kit somewhere nearby as it my save you from injury or tremendous pain.

Next, the cauldron! An iconic symbol of potion-making in general. Every student that wishes to take Potions 101 at Hogwarts must of course have a cauldron to brew potions in, as you will attempt two potions in Potions 101. There are also different types of cauldrons and I am just going to give basic output of them, for further information look at Potions 101, Lesson 3. 

Pewter: Pewter cauldrons are the type of cauldrons many of you have today, ss they are cheap and rather good for beginner witches and wizards. They are the slowest of the three cauldrons and are the most inexpensive. They are made out of metal alloy, two metals or more. 85% tin with copper, bismuth, antimony, and lead.

Brass: Brass cauldrons brew potions at a medium speed. They are also a little bit more expensive than Pewter cauldrons and are good for intermediate witches and wizards who have a basic idea on what brew times and know the idea behind potion-making, but this may not always be true. These cauldrons are made up of Brass. A metal alloy of copper and zinc.

Copper: Copper cauldrons are the fastest when it comes to making potions. Only skilled witches and wizards should use this cauldron because of how fast they brew potions. It can be a bit tricky. This cauldron has a faster brew time thus making it easier to spoil or ruin the potion. It is unwise to use these cauldrons with potions with a vast brew time because the potion often requires the ingredients to sit for some time to do. Copper cauldrons are not an alloy because they are actually a pure chemical element or a substance that is created by a chemical reaction containing atoms that are the same type.
