Swish Or Flick?- A Guide To Developing Your Own Charms

written by Emily Patterson

Imagine: you're pacing the House common room. The spell that you are trying to invent didn't work. Again. Maybe it ended in a catastrophe that will certainly put you on Filch's list, or maybe it just produced a few sparks and then nothing. Whatever the outcome, you need guidance to help get you started, and that is why this book was written. This book will provide you with all the help you need to develop your spell, from naming to incantation to the motion that you cast it with.

Introduction

Dear Reader,
First, lets get those pesky greetings out of the way. Good morning, good evening, and good night! My name is M, and I will be your professor while you are learning the art of creating your own spells. While I am an amateur writer, I am not an amateur spell caster. I am a certified Charms teacher at the BeechBark wizarding program. I have created several different spells and have developed some guidelines to help you create a charm that works.
Now, lets get started. Imagine this: you're pacing the House common room. The spell that you are trying to invent didn't work. Again. Maybe it ended in a catastrophe that will certainly put you on Filch's hit list, or maybe it just produced a few sparks and then nothing. Whatever the outcome, you need guidance to help get you started, and that is why this book was written. This book will provide you with all the help you need to develop  your spell, from naming to incantation to the motion that you cast it with.

**This book was written by an amateur writer who decided to document their method of developing charms in order to help other witches and/or wizards. So, if you find any errors in grammar or spelling, please just do your best to ignore it. Thank you!**
