Getting Sorted
I’m sure most of you already know what house you are in (Slytherin, Gryfindor, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff) but if you aren’t, use this website ( Pottermore ) to find out. You will be sorted into your house in the entry form. Then we will send you an email with your common room code and the password. If you join the wrong common room or the common room before we’ve sent you the email you’ll be kicked out.
Prefects
There are 2 prefects from each house and they’ll be responsible for maintaining order and discipline at Hogwarts. There will be an entry form in each common room’s ‘classwork’ and they will be chosen in 1 - 2 weeks after the year starts. Half way through the academic year, there’ll be a re-evaluation of the prefects where people who joined late and students who didn’t get chosen will be given a chance to apply. However some prefects may stay the same.
#7 To apply for a prefect position you must provide a screenshot of your pottermore quiz results as proof of your house
Prefects will be given extra responsibilities along with extra privileges. For example, they may come together to discuss new ideas and help students who are falling behind with homework.
House Points
House points will be given out for good work, returning homework early, completing extra credit ect. As the amount of students per house isn’t expected to be equal, the ‘total house points’ for each house is the average house points per student x average number of students per house. The current scores can be seen under Hogwarts, classwork, announcements, house points and then you open the document to see the current scores.
