Potion Ingredients

Chapter 14

Hey guys! In this section, we will talk about different potion ingredients and what they do. It's really good to get a better insight into potions, and if you were ever hoping to make your own potion from scratch, knowing what the ingredients do is a great way to start.

We'll give you three ingredients in this section, and explain what they look like, what they do, and what known potions they're used in.

1. Newt Spleen

A newt spleen is a slimy, red ingredient taken from newts to be used in potions such as the aging potion and the wit-sharpening potion. It is a moderatly hard ingredient to work with. It is unknown extatically what it does.

2. Alihotsy

Alihotsy (aka the Hyena Tree) is a species of magical tree. It's green and red, used in potions such as the laughing potion, alihotsy draught and the memory potion, as well as alihotsy-flavoured fudge, although some humans can be allergic to this, making it fatal. Alihotsy is used to induce hysteria and uncontrollable laughter.

3. Pearl Dust

Pearl dust is an ingredient most known for being in love potions, such as Amortentia. It's also used in the potion of invisibility. It's taken from pearls, and it's unknown what exactically it does.

There you go guys! Three ingredients used in potion-making. Feel free to take notes and come back to this if you need to.
