Sunset, Sunrise

If only I could take a paintbrush to the sky

I would paint the sky in the darkest of times.

Paint the sky orange, pink, and purple.

Or any color really,

That would hide the pain inside

When I look at the sunset and sunrise,

I see all my pain and problems wash away,

Wash away like a wave.

But just like waves, they go back,

And my pain comes back

Once the darkness takes over.
