The First Order Meet (Part 1)
Chapter 4
A/n: Hi everyone, one of the readers let me know that Alice has to go through a certain number of years of Auror training to earn that position- so let's just pretend I didn't say she was an intern and move on lol :)
I peered around the corner of the telephone box, Sirius at my side. "This is the right place, isn't it?" I asked uncertainly.
Sirius shrugged. "Never been here before. Maybe we should ask someone."
The two of us were standing in the middle of a busy London street, attempting to mask ourselves as common Muggle passerby.
I sighed. "Let's get in the telephone booth, at least."
Sirius opened the door with a struggle and slipped inside.
"What was the number Dumbledore told us that we had to dial, again?" I asked, squeezing inside with him.
Sirius recited the number without hesitation.
I picked up the phone and dialed the number quickly, brushing the limp blonde hair out of my face annoyedly.
When I pressed the phone to my ears, I could hear a muffled voice saying, "Miss McKinnon? Mr Black?"
"Er- Professor Dumbledore?" I replied nervously.
"Yes, that's right," Dumbledore said with a crackly voice. I could hear an amused tone. "We've done the Muggle phone number setup because of security. We couldn't have the address leaking. If you have a something to write with, that would be best."
I clicked my tongue against the roof of my mouth in understanding. "Alright, one second, sir."
I turned to Sirius, placing a hand on the phone. "Do you have a quill and parchment?"
Sirius raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
"We need to write down an address," I said urgently.
"Calm down, Mar," reassured Sirius, fishing in his jacket for a scrap of parchment. "I have parchment and a broken pencil- it'll still work, though."
I sighed. "It'll have to do, for now. I'll tell you the address, one second."
I placed the phone next to my ear again. "I'm back. So what's the address, Professor?"
"Gideon and Fabian Prewett, two of our other members, have kindly agreed to use their home as the Order headquarters," buzzed Dumbledore's voice. He stated the address and he stopped talking with a short click.
I put the phone down and recited the address to Sirius, who glanced around to see if there were any watching Muggles.
"Let's go," he muttered.
And we both apparated with a loud crack for our first meeting at the Order of the Phoenix.
A/n: sorry in advance if I didn't get the place of the first Order of the Phoenix headquarters correct, I made up my own because I couldn't find the actual answer. In case you were curious, Gideon and Fabian Prewett were mentioned as Molly Weasley's brothers before they died in the first war. They're like an older generation of Fred and George- they're even twins! :)
Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
Love, Jui Weasley
