TW AND CW: mentions of death and torture

It was now all too much.

Lily and James were murdered.

Marlene was gone.

Alice and Frank, the lovely new couple with a lovely new child, were tortured into insanity.

Sirius couldn't fathom how someone could sabotage them like this- until something finally clicked.

It truly wasn't possible to know where the Potters lived unless... unless their Secret Keeper told them.

Peter.

Sirius had to find him.

Apparating everywhere he thought Peter could be, he finally managed to catch him jn a London street.

Heavy rain poured down on the both of them.

"You," hissed Sirius, pointing his wand at him, not caring about the Muggles gathered around them. "How could you just- betray them like that? They were your friends, Peter! And they died to save everyone else!"

"I didn't have a choice," squeaked Peter, pulling out his wand in turn. "They were going to kill me otherwise."

"I would have died rather than my friends!" yelped Sirius.

Peter had apparently had enough of the conversation.

He flicked his wand slightly, only enough that Sirius was able to see through the thick rain, and the entire street blew up into pieces.

Muggles shrieked in terror and ran, but many were flattened.

Sirius managed to cast a Shield Charm to stop debris from raining down on him.

But before Sirius could move an inch towards Peter, he had disappeared.

A rat had instead appeared in his place, and it scuttled far away.

When The Ministry arrived, they automatically assumed it was Sirius who had caused so much destruction and immediately arrested him without a trial.

Sirius did not have a very happy ending.

However, two young children were about to start stories of their own.

Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, and Hagrid were standing by the doorstep of Number 4, Privet Drive, remembering the past antics of all the Marauders.

The children were to be raised as siblings, as Anthea was to never find out the real identity of her seemingly terrible murderer of a father.

"Good luck, Harry and Anthea," said Dumbledore, kneeling down to place the bundles on the rug. "You'll need it."

The End
